hey all, my brother recently bought this player and it's really great and he's very satisfied. since he's a noob when it comes to updating firmwares and such stuff i took it upon myself to make sure he has the latest version. ramos' site is in chinese of course but i managed to navigate to the following page which seem to have the firmware updates. i used google's automatic translation to try and find out the latest one but couldn't understand. it also looks to me like there might be separate updates for separate models (HD/FHD, etc.) but i may be wrong, i don't know, as i said i used automatic translation which is not that good.
the current firmware version by brother got is: t10053_c4955_l26140. i'd really appreciate any help, thanks!

thanks for the reply but you didn't exactly answer my question. i already know where to find the firmware, i'm just asking what's exactly the latest version and if it's safe to update on all models.

That's what it shows on the player when you check your version ID?

the firmwares on here http://www.ramos.com.cn/support.php?support_downid=234 are fine, what its saying is not to use FHD firmware on T17 etc etc, but that page is T17FHD so all firmwares on there will work on yours, tehr are no incremental versions of the T17FHD itself

Well, if that's what it shows on the version ID, then indeed I can see your dilemma. It only says ver.2.0, and 2.1 on the download page, and even if you download it, it doesn't tell you anything. It seems to me the version ID on your player should say 2.0, or 2.1. Not sure about this one. Again, I don't have this player, not really sure...

ok, so it's safe to upgrade. only problem is i still don't get what's the ltest one... the one i got is mentioned as i wrote before but also as V3 but dated 8.2.10 and top of the page says latest one is dated 13.6.10 while other files are listed as V2 and V2.1. i'm really confused right now.

Is confusing indeed. Is there any particular reason you need to upgrade? Just curious. Is it just to have the latest firmware, or is there a problem in particular you're trying to address?

no problem at all, just thought it's a good idea to have latest one installed as it might fix some potential problems. seeing that i can't get a definite answer i think i'll pass on doing it for now. however, if someone does know the latest version then i'd like to know it.
