Still no going? I guess maybe the sign of its end of life? Sorry to say that, I know you're pretty happy with this one.

no, no life at all -dead and i dont know why at all, this thing has been wet, thrown on slate floors by 4 year old and across rooms and always survived - now it seem just letting it sit unused for a week or 2 has caused it spit its dummy out and stubbornly not work any more ??

lol..Sounds like it's been through a tough life. Maybe you should try to throw it on the wall to bring its life back? Must treat it in the way it brought up. :P

Looks like you're going to have to take it apart mad. If it doesn't work, it's not going to hurt anything. See if there's anything going on under the hood. Perhaps swipe the chip.

well, considering that but again, the main prob is getting connected to the PC to do the update, if i swipe the chip it kills of all the firmware so i would definitely need PC connection to reboot it - unles i try and solder on a new USB socket - but my soldering skills and equipment aint that good

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I keep forgetting about your 5 pin USB port. That sucks. If it were mine, I would get a new 5 pin, and replace it. I'm not great at soldering myself, but it's a useless brick the way it is.

Thanks mad, but games don't interest me too much. I put Tetris on here once to try it out, but decided it was just adding wear and tear to my buttons.
