Pxp need help with 2000. Buy this console from page tradestead.com. On page 8GB announced but the welcome I've seen that puts 8GB but gives errors. Searching the web I have seen that the errors are because it is a hacked memory. I removed the console and I saw that the chip has a corresponding 29f32g08cbaa micron with a 4GB chip. Anyway, I am unable to find a way to retrieve the original space of the chip. I've tried all kinds of programs such Alcorn umptool, etc .... but none work.
In the end I decided to change the firmware but neither meeting to update the console firmware. In seeking to make a backup frm morph does not recognize the console. The same when trying to install other firmswares like the jxd 2000. Fails and leaves. Can anyone take a hand?

Sorry mate, you got scammed. It's only 4gb. they simply made it seem to have 8gb.

Yeah, sorry wuebas, what Brainy says is right. You can't retrieve the "original space" because the original space is actually 4GB, not the advertised 8GB. This happened to me when I first got into the whole MP4 player world. The best advice is to look up a seller online for feedback before buying and stay away from auctions.

How do I get to have the real capacity? The problem is that to get movies for example, many data are corrupt and can not see it completely. I flashed the device but still have the same capacity (8GB) .....

I think what wuebas mean is, he want to get back the real capacity of the memory (which is 4gb here). I don't know about this borked memory but if this is involving hardware tweak, maybe nothing you can do.

I also have similar problem but I don't know if mine is really a hacked memory. Mine is 2gb. When I got this device problem dealextreme, i copy many file into it. It works alright until the memory used is more than half (not sure though), the memory got corrupted. The memory freeze, I can't format, copy, delete, save setting and many more. Nothing I do can't fix it so I had to flash new FM.

This solve the problem (memory return to normal, but still 2gb) but I never use the internal memory anymore. Just use a microSD 4gb and I satisfied with it.

The problem is that I pay for an 8GB device and I received a device with a 4GB chip that can not be used. I've bought in tradestead.com and I think you'd better have sent me a 4GB instead of this. This will not let me use the 4GB is because the disk sectors are not fake are dispersed at the beginning or end of the disc but are scattered throughout the disc which is not possible to use 4GB. The proof is that when he put a movie is cut because some of the movie is copied distorted sectors.
