I've read it is Cortex A8 powered with Windows CE and there's an optionnal TV tuner.

Sweet. Being Win Ce bases it's a shame they didn't chuck a browser and wifi in there, although I can understand as almost all their other mids/umpc's and even the p3 have the connectivity side of things covered pretty well.

If that's true, then the HD5 and the P3 would probably share processors/audio codecs.

I think all the top-end Telechips are ARM11-based; perhaps Samsung or TI?

Wow same telechips cpu as the smartQ v5/7 series if i'm not mistaken. Yeah looks pretty nice, nothing groundbreaking or particularly exciting, but clean and simple nonetheless. From the looks of it, this player seems more to be about delivering solid functionality rather than gimmicks and flashy UI's. I think the screen will be capacitive.

Huh, OK, so the HD5 and the P3 are different under the hood. I like the comparison with Cowon's V5; you can see the HD5 is a leaner and probably won't get so bogged down under the weight of its UI like the Cowon.
