im with you sere83,

if there is a future mp3 player for me, its definitely the viliv p3

not only is it the most functional (i wont repeat what it can do), but its the sleekest with the nicest screen (800x480 3.7 AMOLED!!) and its one of the only android devices that supports mkv (to be seen). despite sound quality, which i cant IMAGINE will be anything less than satisfactory (i have good ears, but do not require perfection in music, since my walk around headphones arent superb)

im looking forward to a device where i can enjoy videos to the fullest. but its also nice that even if the p3 gets released and there is little support for it, android users everywhere will continue to create apps and games (unlimited with emulators) for it...and thats only one of the OS's on it

it will be expensive, but itll easy be the most feature packed player out there...and even if android becomes outdated on this device...it still has the best screen of any PMP imho.....with mkv support

Just stumbled across this on another forum..

If it delivers on the claims the P3 will be mine, the s:flo2 would play second fiddle to this bad boy.

It is a nice device, something that i was expecting, not from them, but in going the Android path and customizing the hell out of it and smacking it onto some decent hardware. BUT, know viliv this is probably going to be in the sub $300 range :/

yeah I can't see this being cheap, I'm hoping though it comes in around the price of the J3, hopefully then it will give cowon a kick up the a*s. Although that may be optimistic. But realistically they can't really expect to shift too many of these if it is much over the J3 pricing anyway as it will be going head to head with the J3 in Korea and now with viliv showing signs of getting distribution deals, in both Europe and the US too. Lets not forget the Ipod touch factor as well, although companies like cowon and viliv are obviously far more niche so the touch pricing may not be such an influential factor.

As you say though, it's just very nice to see a manufacturer finally putting out what looks to be a powerful, connected and slick android pmp. Hopefully the first of many to come.

so we have price confirmation from the Viliv website >>>

http://myviliv.com/v4/bbs/bbs.asp?PKIND ... 317&PAGE=1

Here's how they convert...

Entry Level (8GB) = $211
DMB (16GB) = $268
DMB (32GB) = $325

WIFI/DMB (8GB) = $260
WIFI/DMB (16GB) = $301
WIFI/DMB (32GB) = $366

Unclear what we can expect in terms of exported models and pricing as I presume the export model will not include a DMB module. I really hope that they can keep the entry level Wifi model at $260, that would be a touch.
