hey guys im planing on buying a new player soon, but before i do there are a few thing it needs to be able to do. most already do everything i want (otg, HD out etc) but multiple audio tracks and subs are also a must, and im not so sure if they all do this.

so can someone pls try a MKV file for me? basically im looking to be able to switch between audio tracks and turn subs on and off.

if you do not already have a MKV file you can try this
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F61LS1XL (258MB- a dragonball z film)

if it asks for a password it will be: fuzion-dl.net

if you do this pls tell me what player your using and what the result is. also if it does something/ doesnt do something major (like it has a pdf reader/ it doesnt have otg) then pls lemme know
many thanks in advance =)

Smooth playback on my T12HD. Subtitles work fine, and no problem switching through audio tracks. To my knowledge, what you're asking for (subtitle support and multiple audio tracks) is pretty much standard now on all new players. If all you want is to watch these types of anime MKVs, then you can't go wrong with any RK2806 player, since most anime rips out there aren't above 720p. Is OTG a must-have for you?

Works fine on my G85 as well. Turn subs on and off, as well as changing audio tracks.

not really, but its a nice feature, can you turn off the subs? cos on aniol v9000HD apparently you can turn them off.

I know on the first iteration of the firmware that came with the V8000HDW you could turn the subtitles on and off. The April release re-skinned the UI, and (probably due to a bug) made it impossible to turn off the subtitles (well actually there is a workaround...). The thing about the new release though is it allows you to also resize the subtitles and change the subtitle colors. I don't know of any other 1080p players that let you do this.

I don't know about the V9000HDA/HDG firmware.

It is hoped that they will fix this bug in the firmware in the next release.

The main improvement with the new firmware for V8000HDW was album art support when playing music, they removed the subtitles display option, the image sharpness option, when browsing files, they were not sorted alphabeticaly and some minor bugs made me go back to the former firmware.

I think the work around was to place an empty srt file and choose that file (hence no subtitles.) Can someone clarify the exact proceedures?
