I'm curious to know as well because I wanted to place an order sometime this week (most likely by Thursday). Hopefully at least the 2GBs are in stock.

Hi people,I am reading someone is using S:flo2 with an amplifier:isn't its own amp enough for a top quality sound?
I will use it with IEMs Sennheiser IE8 (I already have them) and I hope it'll be more than enough to enjoy :D !
Let's wait for Raz's updates...

Still waiting on batch 3 but from several reviews I've read its built in amp is decent and better than most. I'm sure the HP out it will be good for all but the most demanding cans and ears. I might get a beefy amp for home but I am not convinced as I've only every read online about the pros of HP amps, a trip to a local hifi shop is in order me thinks to test some candidates although I alrteady have a CMOYBB and E5. A few more days (hopefully eh Raz) and I will post my own review.

IE8s look great I just can seem to justify spending that kind of mony on IEMs (yet), I just think I'll break them like all the countless IEMs ive gone through in the past. Hopefully the Nationite M2s turn out to be decent untill then the old sennheiser CX300II will do.

I'll be using my Sflo:2 with my Beyerdynamic DT990 600ohm headphones and the iBasso P3+ amp to provide lots of clean power from the LO. Should sound mega sweet :)

Just out of curiosity, would you use that kit when you're out and about? Must be half a kilo or more of equipment there. I'm looking for a portable amp, but it has to be light and cheap (like $50 max) so the search is seeming impossible. I won't bother with the Fiio E5 (no offence intended to folks that own one, it's just not for me).

On a seperate note, I'm going on the assumption that the new players won't be ready today, or anytime soon, that way I can be pleasantly suprised if they are. Killing my hopes now avoids later dissappointment.

Perhaps I misunderstood :p robably people is talking about using S:flo2 as external source and then they are considering to buy an amplifier to give it more sound power.Differently,I was talking about using the DAP only with IEMs and in this case I think the internal amp is just perfect.Am I right?
Bye.

You're right. IEMs typically have low impedance, the IE 8s only have about 16ohm I think. I'd be shocked if the S:Flo2 can't drive them when there's a review somewhere here that says the player can drive 160ohm headphones easily, I can't remember who wrote that tho.

Any more experience users feel free to jump in and correct me.

True enough, but that doesn't stop you from using amps with IEMs to give moar juice and perhaps sound preference through OPAmp rolling.

P.S. @Raz; Any updates on 16GBs? :? Please? :| Pretty please? :( Pretty pretty please?

Only the e5 out and about even altiods tin cmoy is an extra thing to carry, if not in the office or home I would just use IEMs and no amp.

For $50 you are going to be limited to either the e5 or a basic Cmoy mint tin amp, or mini3 / other DIY. My e5 has way more power and clarity at higher volumes than CMOY-BB i favor the e5 else I think its best to save for something decent for the Sflo2 if your primary cans are full sized. You can get an amp 2nd hand of one fo the hifi forums as peeps like the swap and change thir kit.

I have been waiting for a month now, I have found the best distraction is window shopping for amps and cables

IEMs always get messy in my filthy ears. Good point tho, I hadn't even considered a second hand amp. Thanks.

I'm starting a new game. Guess how many pages this thread will reach before the 8gb and 16gb models begin to ship. My guess is 32.

Raz,

It's Wednesday and you are currently listed as online. We hope that you have been checking in on this thread. As you can see, there are alot of questions for you. Can you please provide us with an update on the 3rd batch sflo2 status (all versions 2 gb, 8 gb and 16 gb)? Thanks.....
