notsureifserious.gif..

I'll get my Fischer Audio Eternas and Head-Direct Re0s this week. It's gonna be interesting to see what the Ipod sounds like thru either one. Even more so, now that I've opened an RMA ticket for my N1.

i'm dead serious and i'm getting the cx300-II's for my next player, the shape is perfectly made for my ears

i never really like the ipod sound, with "rock" preset it was OK even my sandisk c240 and sony 1GB mp3 stick sounded better

I'm using the "Acoustic" preset with my nano. That brought out some details and helped improve the sound.

I really like my CX300s with the N1, especially with stuff like Roots Manuva, where bass is essential.. ;)

Hi Sephino,

pardon my ignorance.

Is the airmail cost back to MP4nation beared personally or would MP4nation bear it as the faulty product is from them?

I think if the Airmail cost is too high, I would just have drop the idea of sending it back since it is not worth the trouble and money.

minus1MG, I'm gonna have pick up the tab on returning the player. I have yet to do it, so I don't know what the exact costs are, I'm afraid. But you're probably right about there being a disparity between the player's value and the shipping cost.

But I'm doing it anyways, if only to send a signal that some QC on MP4Nation's and/or the manufacturer's part would've saved _them_ even more. They're gonna have to check the player, exchange it and cover shipping costs back to Germany. Considering that there seem to be quite a few faulty players in the current batch, that should cut into profits significantly, if more people were to do that.

Yeah, I'm stubborn like that.

Indeed. I'm with you on this. I got fed up to be issued a faulty item for my First purchase with mp4nation. QC is truly something they should revise on.

Shipping from Germany is 8.50 EUR w/ a tracking number. Not quite as bad as expected, but still raising the overall price significantly. I should've opted for a Sansa Clip+ straight away.

I just hope the next N1 actually works, because I really enjoyed the SQ.

If you really enjoy the SQ, then look for players with Sigmatel 3710 or 3770. They are used in a lot of cheap mp3 players. Cheap players with Sigmatel usually sound very very alike, I guess they mostly use Sigmatel's reference design.
