i think you really need to have tversity running permanently on a dedicated machine to really utilize the web downloads stuff, so its juts updating itself in the background

also that video preview on web downloads is a problem, if that was gone then things would be smoother

I had same thing happened too, but i was doing something else also. When I came back to the TV screen later on. The youtub video was playing..lol So I figured it needs time to cache and download.

What do you mean by video preview on web downloads is a problem?

the thumbnail preview when you go to the list of videos, to the left top of screen,for web based it really does not need to be there, because if a new vid is being added at the time you are browsing the player will try and load a preview which kills the whole process and stops you navigating to ther rest of the vids, its to heavy, need to keep the wifi clear until you are ready to watch and not let the player download a preview when on wifi

That make sense, but it happens on LAN also. If you select the one movie from the list that has not have preview and info on the left, it'll crash, but it'll come back and play but not sure how long takes.

just an update

got a new LCD tv yesterday (i have been using 14" CRT) and the whole HDVP experience is totally different on this screen, i can now see all things properly, clearly - very different experience

anyway, as i have the HDD installed i thought it would be a great way to back up my photos from my SD card, we have been away several times of late, taken many many pics, we have used the HDVP2 to view the images taken by just slotting in the sd card and boom, were away, the HDVP can handle and view high res images from the camera really fast and easy and they look even better on the new LCD.
The thing is the HDVP can copy files from one device to another but the problem is it wont copy folders, if you select a folder to copy all it does is copy the contents of the folder to your chosen destination and i want it to copy the whole folder over so it all organized. The player cant create folders and does not give the option to create any either so all the photos are just going to end up in one massive folder

raz, do you think you can mention to them about either copying the folder over as well or/and giving us the ability to create folders, so for eg i could create a new folder on the HDD and copy images into it, this really would be a massive boost, i know you all see this as a movie player but as a photo viewer and a back up system it has massive potential, as well as displaying pics fast and clean -it really is so easy to pop in the card and be viewing images really quick, quicker than finding camera cables and sucking the battery out of the camera

Congrats on the TV. I have a list of things i want the factory to try and do for a new firmware, if they will be able to do any/all will still be seen.
