anything happen when you plug in the power lead to charge?
what does device manager see when the player is connected -windows may not see the player but update tool should

load up and get the update tool ready and loaded with firmware

connect the player then poke that hole at the bottom by the volume wheel (its a hardware update/reset hole) - is the player detected by the tool (you will see text poss change in bottom left of tool) - try and reload firmware again

Frickin amazing Maderin! You rule dude! My sflo2 is alive and healthy.

But let me ask you, I connected it, it is detected as a removeable drive and when I click on it, it asks to be reformatted. Should I format it?

I went ahead and formatted because it wouldn't allow me to do anything with it till I did. But the fw leaves absolutely nothing on it, no files, no folders, nothing.

I loaded some music on the int memory and it plays fine. It saves the settings too.

Mine is recovered to normal operation too!! I just reloaded the FW v2.00 trough upd. utility v1.22 followed by Maderin1 instructions. Now it works fine. No problems with scrambled characters or reverted default settings to Chinese language. :)

My s:flo2 has gone back to re-booting with every touch after I load music onto it. Re-formatting the player from the menu stops it but it dosent really matter since it dies the same thing every time it gets music. I've reloaded the firmware, re-formatted, and reset dozens of times.

Any ideas?

so no matter how you do it, even if you select a music file from the directory browser (dont use the ARTIST/ALL MUISC etc )
what about videos, will it play them OK?
can you try revert back to 1.20
did you try on another PC at all
