What class of Micro SD card for MP4 player?

I am looking to buy a Micro SD card for my MP4 player and note there are different class's of card (Class 2, 4 etc)

Could someone advise what the different class's are? and the best for MP4 players?

Don't know the best for MP4 players, but my class 4 micro's work well in both my Onda VX787, as well as my VX555HD.

SD Cards and SDHC Cards have Speed Class Ratings defined by the SD Association. The SD Speed Class Ratings specify the following minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied":[8]

Class 2: 2 MByte/s - 13x
Class 4: 4 MByte/s - 26x
Class 6: 6 MByte/s - 40x[/i]

You can always Google it. :wink:

I can tell you that everything works fine on my class 4. Video doesn't lag or anything.

Obviously a higher class means that it has a higher transfer speed. Although that doesnt mean you will notice much of a difference in mp4 players

For the price and reliability, what is the best MicroSD Class 6 (SDHC)? How good is the Generic MicroSD Class 6 (SDHC) sold here? I have been reading about various brands of MicroSD Class 6 (SDHC) cards. Some brands are not really class 6 as advertised when tested, others fail early, and there is a problem with errors and/or failure of PCs to recognize some individual cards that are purchased while other such cards by a given manufacturer seem to run flawlessly. It seems to be pretty much of a 'crap shot'. What is the experience of those here who have bought such cards? What is the best 'brand name' to go with?

I have 2, both Dane Electric 4GB, and only gave $9.99 each.
