holy S**T!!!!!!!!!! just loaded it and it works!!!!!!! looks amazing!!!!!!!! they have added ID3 tag browsing!!! brand new font, looks amazing. Great menu like the zune! looks like a proper serious player now. I have only played with it for a few minutes and I am having a few issues getting it to recognise my tags and certain videos seem to be desynching now but i'm sure these issues are just because it is a pre release. I will try take some screen shots with my camera. From first impressions, with this new firmware it is possible that the Smart Q could go to war against the Meizu M6!!

Especially with the Wolfson audio chip. Does your T5 have the Wolfson or is that something new?

I'm happy for you and everyone else that has the current T5 that you'll be able to share with the T5-II owners the newest firmware releases. Keep us posted.

I agree. Looks Awesome!

I'm sure this was brought up before, but does "Favorites" work with playlist files (.m3u) and if so, more than one?

I take it that's your own vista looking wallpaper? Or is that the default with the new firmware (looks different than original post)?

Man, I'm getting really excited about the T5-II. I might have to order express mail!

For me this new style of menus looks hmmm normal? Looks like standard menus from other new players :/
The original one looked kind "other" and very nice at one :D Still looks good and i'm going to buy it :D

no favourites is just 1 single 'on the go' playlist, you must play a song to add a song to it. No M3u support. After playing with the firmware for a bit I have noticed a few problems. It does not recognise some of my ID3 tags and requires a meida library update, but then when you restart the player doesn't list all tagged tunes in the 'all songs' menu. Certain videos are out of sync when they were not before. I cannot figure out whether album art is supported. This is a pre release though and I have full faith that smart Q will fix all the problems in the next couple of updates. The wallpaper is my own. The player keeps your wallpaper now when you change firmware, I would really like the wallpaper from those T5 II screen shots though, looks really nice. You can also browse by genre and song year! that is quite rare.

believe me this firmware looks SOO much nicer than the original firmware. It has properly rendered fonts and really nice smooth menus, definitely a huge step up. It looks proffesional now, like player interfaces from the bigger western, japanese and south korean manafacturers. In terms of how it looks, it kicks the ass of all the other chinese players interfaces I have used apart from perhaps the MEIZU m6.

Can you play music exclusively within one of these "browse" folders (artists, albums, genre, age)? If so, you could easily set up the genre folder to work as a playlist (with the exception of play order). I've already been doing that for my media server... reassigning new genres to all my albums. I'm sure there are ways to manipulate individual songs as well.
