Was the battery fully charged before you attempted the upgrade? Here's a guide I made for the Onda VX575HD. It's a SoChip unit like your V8000HDG. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15674&start=0 Here's a thread where a forum member, Nodeity, bricked his Ainol V6000HDR. He says his player "flashed" briefly when he tried to turn it on. Does yours? He used the guide I posted above and fixed it: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15628&start=0 and again: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15712&start=0

The battery was fully charged before the upgrade. Just a quick question, what if the battery wasnt fully charged?

Tried to turn on the unit but no brief flash. However, when I plug in the usb cable, there was a brief flash.

Thanks for the links, I will try and revert back if I'm successful.

Hi "The Warrior Poet"

Thanks so much for the links..it really works..i finally managed to unbrick my ainol..

Lastly can I check if anyone formatted their player to ntfs?

Why I'm asking as my mkv files are bigger than 4gb and due to FAT32 limitation, I'm unable to copy into the internal hdd.

Thanks.

if its FAT32 to start with then the player will not see the files if you convert it to NTFS - larger files systems are coming in laters models(see bottm of warriors thread) and as yours is sochip it would be exfat system but this appears to be in later models only
while windows may let you change the file system the player is not set up to read or work with anything other than FAT32

well done for unbricking and again, thanks to warrior for a great and useful thread

You're welcome. I'm trying to keep that file system upgraded best I can. It gets confusing sometimes, because it will say "supports" EXFAT, meaning you can format to exfat, while from the factory it's FAT32. Doing my best.

Hey Warrior, I should receive my HDV friom repair this week. I'll update it to the latest firmware and tell you if it is Exfat formatable.

OK, thanks, you could post it on this thread if you'd like: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15674&start=0
If you look at the bottom of the page, I made a guide to show what the native file system is. Thanks.
