pasen firmware home brewed?? - the story was the factory messing up all the time - either way nothing has changed which is inevitable with this factory anyway

with the 1.10 firmware i think this was a rush release to fix the screen align problems, what was released was actually a half developed firmware, they would have been in the middle of developing it when this urgent issue arose, so they would have fixed that and released the firmware in a half developed state -its sloppy but not uncommon in programming but its not acceptable - the next update will sort it all out

the connection issue is worrying though as Teclast recently announced in a press release that their player were compatible with Win7!!

sure i agree but why doesn't that happen then? too much money? i can't really think of a player that has underwent such dramatic changes (hard- and firmware wise) from the orignal one, pasen firmware was home brewed but the m33/os-81 is still the same

it's a bit weird because the factory who makes a product should make it properly, not the consumer, they pay loads of cash for it and want a finished and working product

Pasen firmware was not homebrewed and just from what i saw/heard them go through, i would never try to go for a custom firmware (apart from some very minor stuff) with this factory.

Well the hardware is proper, the firmware takes longer, Teclast is good at releasing updates to a point that make their players stable and enjoyable (for the most part).

here's a quick video of the corrupt now playing screen, watch from 1:50 min where the action happens

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj8aWglAeQ0

files won't play, sometimes i have to go back and forth multiple times to directory and press a file multiple times in order to play, sometimes it plays other time it doesn't

well first off i will say that the whole things is extremely fast, i mean to naviagte around etc -i wonder if you were just going too fast when it got confused?? or can this just happen at any random point?? - man that was really fast - faster than the P3 and touch screen also looks better that the P3 as well -

you use file browsing to select music?? does the same thing happen and are files still messed up when using the music library to play music

yeah it's pretty fast, i'm scrolling fast myself but the UI itself it also fast

well, when you update the library it doesn't take all the folders and files into the library, i think it has to do with the foldernames or filenames, but the ones it does take and reads tags from can play fine, it's only when browsing through folders/filenames it doesn't always play the file and sometimes the corrupt screen appears, like seen from 1:50 minute of the video, did you see what i mean?

yeah i saw that corruption happen
howmmany songs / folders do you have on the player
the fact that you and raz are seeing different results does not surprise me, is can happen and i dont think raz is in anyway hiding anything - it may be that he only has 100 songs in 1 depth level folders - you may have several folders deep - its just a thought

88 folders, 1645 files, most are MP3 only a couple of albums in WAV for testing purposes and yes i have subfolders but the os-81 doesn't have a problem with that at all

but again, this is the same collection i've been using on the os-81 for almost a year now so trust me, it's not my files :D i know you're not saying that but just wanted to stress, i'm sure it has to do with the foldernames/filenames and the firmware not being to read them properly

well, nothing can be done now so we'll just have to wait for an update

hi guys

oh well i guess the s:flo2 can be crossed off my to buy list :(

looks like i have to return to my original plan of buying the vx777le as the fm transmitter is THE most important selling point to me.

i just wish the makers of these all singing all dancing pmps would start to include fm transmitter as standard as almost every person i know (and its a lot due to taxi driving) have all said the fm transmitter is a MUST as most listening is done in the car.

regards

TBH you are better off geting a external FM transmitter as you will be missing out on a better player, get one that can plug into car charger then you get best of both worlds, fm transmitter wont run the player battery down and with it being plugged in it wont use batteries

hi guys

thanks for the advice mad but as they say "been there, done that"

had a ramos t8 player, bought a cheap ext fm transmitter and it was crap.......so bought a top of the range one and although it was far better it was still not perfect (every now and then had to alter frequencies to get best results)....now i have a VX545 and the transmitter is as close to cd quality as you can get and not had to change frequency since i set it (tried my ext on same freq but still had to change it now and then)...hence me wanting a player with one built in.

as i only want it for music playback (vx545 is for movies etc..) looks like either the vx777le or a player i found called a netac a210, not made my mind up yet but the touchscreen on the 777le is edging that player ahead lol (just hope the firmware is stable on it now)

regards
