Ok!

Portuguese!

I have bad news, bro! The subtitles will not work for us! Well... I didn't tried maderin's font till now, but if you're using the Iriver font, then it will not work at all with other fonts, I'm afraid... This is a firmware issue, the player was stated to display chinese and english, and they eill no bother themselves about potuguese or any other minor language in the world... My sugestion is: edit you own legends to something without accents, like: Não to Naum, Açúcar to Assucar and so on... good luck!

Oh! Just if you're thinking about, no! There is no player that displays our language on subtitles (at least from china, and I've being testing a lot of them!).

Thanks for your help. I was thinking that that could be the case, Was only hoping for a miracle anyway.

a good hack could solve that.
I was trying things with cc1600 (vx555hd) player thinking about change something on the fw to make this look for the regular font and not the chinese one. but to do that needs someone who knows program as well.
This mess with chars makes me feel a little bit annoyed about chinese pmp. ;\
I think till´next year i will not buy anything more. ;\

Do you use any software to edit the subtitles? Or good old notepad?

Substitute all in notepad is good! hahah works well.
You could use "Subtitle Workshop" to do that.
To me, "você" now is "vc"!

right - need to have a look at this
it seems subs are not using the fonts file for some reason
can someone upload a sample file witg video and subs - i need to do some checking and testing -

My Chinese subtilte display fine. Maybe it's for sub with accent?

Mad, I put 2 files on the link, avi+srt subtitle in portuguese (a lot of chars).

Yes, the problem is subs with accents. For example â, ã, á, à etc
