Does this player have 2 batteries? Or, is this common in most players?

yep, it's "just" the firmware, the players itself is unbelievable

- build quality, size and weight are perfect (for me)
- the screen is absolutely gorgeous, very vibrant and sharp colors, great viewing angles
- the sound quality makes up for everything, 320kbps HQ rips sound incredible
- volume is insanely high, hearing damage guaranteed!
- movies with AC3 or DTS sound amazing, you dont need to go to the movies ever again!
- the analog volume button is definitely the right choice here, 100% accurate

sure, maybe this player isn't taken full advantage of, put it in the hands of iriver or cowon and we'll probably see the perfect player but for me it's perfect for now, i'm all about music and this baby kicks ass in that area, no doubt about that, teclast just needs to get their act together but i'm confident they will not leave this one in the cold, they spend a lot of time developing this, first 2 batches were sold out in no time so there's a lot of people who own this and have high expectations of it + it's not the cheapest one either..

excellent, supports much more video formats than cc1600!

AVI, plays anything i through at it properly, the cc1600 had problems with these same files
MKV, music videos play fine but blu-ray rips are unwatchable, too heavy for these chips, the audio is fantastic though
FLV, plays anything from youtube
VOB, plays DVD files smoothly

- the video UI is super basic though: zoom, REW, PLAY/PAUSE, FF and BACK
- doesn't support video resume
- doesn't support bookmarks
- rewinding and forwarding is good, small steps and much more accurate than the big blocks forwarding of cc1600
- screen quality is very good although viewing angles from top and bottom are better/brighter than from straight front (???) but the screen is very nice, bright, sharp and vibrant colors

Does it have live FF ( where you can see the part you are fast forwarding through)?
Does this file play perfectly all the way through [link]http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/download.php?v=164778&d=68853&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nostro.fr%2FAMV%2FNostromo_-_Running_Man_432p%4060.avi[/link] ? On the OS-72 it plays quite weirdly- perfect for like... 40 seconds and then stutters and slows down. But it is @ 60 fps...
What controls for the EQ does it have?
I can think of only one player off the top of my head that perfectly reproduces the sound, and that is the Iriver H1xx series and it had an optical out.
I don't know what I should do with this. My OS-72 is pretty decent, but the SQ is going downhill, some of the buttons are wearing out ( ugh) and it is rather large ( though still nice), and there is a permanent piece of dust imbedded in the glass panel ( kinda weird)! I don't know. I think I may have to RMA it soon, because things are only getting worse. :P ( except that it has stopped turning off the screen when I am watching video, (if set to screen off after 5 seconds)! I don't know why it has suddenly stopped doing this, but I'm pretty stoked) I'm going to try to re-flash the fw and see if that does anything.
I hope the S:Flo v2 will have enough differences to the t51 that it is worth it.

if you mean that you still see the movie while FF'ing, then yes

will test in a bit

basic rokchip presets: rock, jazz, normal, pop and user EQ, user EQ is 5-band (are you familiar with rockhips based players???)

would be pretty lame of teclast if it's hardware changes but i'll still get it, again

i'm just gonna be honest with you, this device is far from perfect but which chinese pmp is??? if you read teclast BBS, you'll see a lot of talk and fuss from audiophiles with all kind of fancy equipment reviewing this thing and spitting out audio terms i never heard of.. if you're that kind of person, you should get it and listen for yourself, i cannot decide for you wether you'll like it or not, my ear are not your ears.. me, i'm just a regular guy who listens to electronic music at high quality and i know what kind of sound i like so i know what to look for

the way i see it, this thing is very powerful and will blast away your ears and speakers! is it finetuned? can it be improved? is the hardware taken full advantage of? background noises? the firmware is buggy as hell! i think teclast just stuffed it full with audio chips and amplifiers and left it to it's RAW POWER to be what it is, it's like a wild untamed animal without control but could be so much better

note: this player does have screen tearing, like the OS-81, i think it's because they both have MVA screens

main issues atm:
- file corruption
- USB connection

screen tearing is a step backwards, could be down to using the same supplier for the MVA screens?? but its not right -spoils a player and at 3.5" this is actually a good size and compromise for portable video viewing, better than 3" and more portable than 4.3" - but if it has screen tearing it will again be an issue that will be constantly bugging this player if they continue to manufacture with same screen - what a shame
