i downloaded the new firmware -> extracted it -> renamed the folder so i could open the RK28Upgrade.exe

then the problem starts -> i do not know what to do

dont panic, tells us exactly what happend? i suggest you do the update on a XP machine (or maybe it works on vista/7 too, i dont know)

first of all, rename the foldernames, like 1 2 3, the chinese character wont work

if everything is done correctly, after step 4, the "new hardware wizard" will show up, manually install the USB drivers which are in the folder (in my case folder number 3) are you familiar with installing drivers manually???

when all is good you will see the update progress in the big window, a lot of scrambled letters will pass but DON'T DO ANYTHING YET !!! just wait until you get a message and your player restarts, after this the update is complete and you can safely disconnect it

Thank you man. But works till step 4, then this error apears then nothing happens:

I will try it with the computer from my sister. lets see what happens.

looks like vista you are using - will be the problem especially with getting the add new hardware wizard - the add hardware is essential, without the drivers this is impossible - if sis has XP then go for it - damn i wish rockchip could get round this !!!

yeah i was really hoping, well actually expecting, they would move on with the drivers for rk28xx series but i guess not..

RAFA i can't do anything right now because it's charging but if you need any help just post here

chim - on BBS they are saying like you songs wont play or list and they say its due to "." (dots) in the filenames or folder names - ??

BTW RAFA you are not alone - just about all are having problems in China too - errors updating, win& and vista causing problems with same error box you got - which is basically cos it cant install drivers

yeah well if that's the case, then they screwed up somewhere along the ling because it was fine with the first version, memory card integration worked and tags worked, album, artist, title, everything worked and i didn't change anything on the memory card

i was thinking of formatting both internal mem and mem card and try with jsut 2 albums, 1 on internal and 1 on memory card to see what happens, will do tomorrow when it's done charging
