What do you prefer, headphones that go over your ear, earphones that just rest in the outer part of your ear canal or in-ear/canalphones that go right into your ear?

I personally use earphones, i find headphones to bulky and the in-ear headphones, although nice, make me worry about the effects of channeling loud music right down to my own eardrum.

I've had about any type of headphones, including wireless, wired, IR over the head, behind the neck, near your ear, clipping your toe-nails, absolutelly every type....

My personal favourites are the in-ear cannal phones... They reign supreme. They block out outside noise, output beatifull music and save player battery life beacause you DON'T have to turn the player really all the way up to enjoy the clarity.

Personally i find them best suited for public transport, blocking out most of the citty's unpleasant noises and car-horns. And you don't bother the people arround you if you want to listen to a stupid track once in a while... :P

My advice: try one pair put, but before you do make shure tey're quality ones: Sennheiser (i own a pair of CX 300s) , Shure, Etymotic, Creative Aurvana, AKG, Ultimate Ears ($$$ :( )... all are good.
You'll be absolutelly impressed from the first try.

i like headphones. in ears are cool, but they wont stay in, constantly popping out. the kind that loop around your ear i dont like because they dont seem to sit snug against my ear, so i go for the3 old school over the ear headphones

Depends on where I'm listening. At home, I like to use the old school headphones. When I'm in the car, on the bus or just generally out in public, I use in-ear phones.

at home, on the bus, on a plane, backseat of the car, at work, i use headphones...big, studio headphones. if i'm running, biking, walking, or anything like that, i use in-ear headphones that have that "wrap-around-the-ear" thing. otherwise, they always pop out of my ears.

Imainly use in-ear phones because they have great sound quality and reduces outside sound quite a bit

I am useing a in earphone because they sound better and better bass and you block out like 50percent of sound so you don't have to jack up the volume.
This can be just me but i think "in-ear" are the best.
