talking of EQ - i hope they are putting in adequate EQ options for this player, if all they put in are the standard pre-sets and playFX then all this hardware is lost, rockchips usually do have user EQ, but as an audio buff what and how many band EQ would you want to see on this ???

i am pretty sure it will have all the standard eq options that come with RK players, including playfx.

I'm also pretty shure about that, but standard 5eq band would still be a bit lacking if you have such good hardware. I hope for the standards of the Meizu M6 :)

To be honest, I think the dual out stereo jacks will only appeal to the true audiophiles. My feeling is that this player will have an above average price tag, and maybe a little too complicated for the average Joe to use or want. I'm not sure how common HD radio is in China, but if I were teclast, I would get rid of the dual jacks/wolfsons, and throw some HD radio capability in there. Look at the new Zune HD. The thing will be unbelievable successful for just that reason, HD radio. I think that the Dual jacks should be an option for those truly interested, but I think it may cause a lot more problems than it is actually worth. Put something in there that will appeal to the masses. We have not seen one Chinese company try to iimitate any of the American designed mp3/4 players, and until then, they will not see the success of the American companys like Apple, Microsoft, and Sandisk. When are they going to realize that people want reliability, and usability more than anything? If teclast was smart, they would not worry so much about the super crazy amazing hd quality dual jack audio. Keep it simple and reliable. I think this player is defeating the purpose of pretty much any consumer products.

I think their intent is to reach out to a niche audience, as WELL as mp3/pmp customers at large. If you search the various dap forums, there's definitely a market for players with line out - but there's precious few that can achieve it in the current generation of players. When I was searching for one - the Sansa Fuze is the only one that stood out, and it can really only do line out via a dock. Though some people have modded the docks into basic cables - and started selling their own.

It's useful for audiophiles who connect to portable amps, and also for those that just want to play their daps on their stereo - with better fidelity. I'm already intrigued to buy one as a replacement or complement for my Fuze. The fact that it wouldn't require a special cable or dock is a bonus.

But if it can do HD TV Out or has a high resolution screen - then it's a MUST BUY for me, imo.

At freakin last - i thought there was never going to be a bigger sflo!!!

ive said since i got s:flo the first that to be perfect it needed 1. at least a 3inch screen 2. AN SD SLOT!!!!!!!! and in an ideal world 3. an external speaker............

thats all that it needs to be the perfect player ( and the 2 main problems sorting)

im worried that they have stepped over these somewhat semingly minor requirements to give us this GIANT of a player in specs and kind of in build... too much too soon in my opinion, they should have just added a little extra to the t50 first, this is more like a t55!! and why would they abandon the t50 UI?

dont get me wrong I am truly excited by this as it will probably be the best asian pmp for myself, seeing as cowon have no SD card option ( if they did i would have ordered one ASAP) and Pasen dont seem to be doing anything.

And the worrying thing about any PMP's are the battery once their gone thats it isnt it!!??!! so why would you want to use a PMP for your stereo if you are in your house????? oh well each to their own.. just defys logic to me ...just give me a nice PMP - with its own crappy speaker so that i can listen to my stuff without earphones once in a while.

oh well - arise S:flo the second

@ Raz, hopefully you can get them mass produced at any rate.

But assuming I can do it easily ( just got myself a very very useful multi tool) then I'll be more then happy to build people bits and bobs.

Obviously I'd have to be happy with how they look etc also XD

Unless there's been a sea-change of engineering attitude and prowess at the factory, I don't hold out much hope for this player to reach its full potential. Fortunately, there's always the possibility that the folks at Rockbox will take some interest. Frankly, features like PlayFX would be a bad joke considering the important bits of this player are normally found in home audio gear, USB DACs, and headphone amps. Note to factory types:

Wish 1
Wish 2

A (properly implemented) line out is actually the most exciting feature of this player; to now, line outs have been limited to docks (a la iPod, Cowon X5, Rio Karma, et al) or converter cables, so one built right into a player is news indeed.

edit:
Latest info (really more of a press release)

if all this player is going to have in terms of audio enhancements is PlayFX then they need to at least open up the options and setting to tweak the PlayFX. These have been available from the start but for some reason they have never put them into players. I have seen it only once on any player. Each of the 3 PlayFX options can be tweaked, this is available but never implemented, not sure why

thanks for the link, it just goes to show how important it is that before nationite release this to get the hell tested out of it by someone with all the right equipment and make sure whats coming out is right

also a new UI on this shot

This is a very interesting player that promises a hell of a lot and will attract the kind of people that really want audio perfection, so it really has a lot to live up to, problem is, the bigger they are the harder they fall - so come on teclast, make sure you get it all right

i wonder if the new UI shot is showing off possible cover flow, we know its possible on the RK2806 as the T11RK has it implemented.

well i think with the new 28 SDK they can do alot more with the UI so it may be the same kind of thing as on the T11RK

player looks a little slimmer inn that pic - must have put it on a diet already

just noticed that the play/pause button is at bottom and next and previous at the top - odd arrangement?? - at least the UI looks a little fresher in that image

lol - again teclast have used the same image of a DVD ...yes !! DVD disc to represent a CD - they did this with exact same image on their version of the OS43, its the small blue one at either side of the colorful disc

it does indeed mad, i just read the article below and it's a hell lot of techtalk which 90% of it i dont understand what the hell they're talking about but it all sounds good to me, the way they describe it comes across as some sort of professional high-end audio processing unit for studios or something or hi-fi experts :D

http://translate.google.nl/translate?hl ... sID%3D4169

i wonder what kind of earphones you'll need with this to profit from all this audio violence, if the human ear can even hear all those specs they describe
