Bought Fake Sennheisers :( damnit UPDATE

ebay is scum of the earth - good for buying tat only -they dont seem to give a flying hoot about fakes from china, i had run ins with them over them letting people sell fake memory media players and other stuff, they dont give a damn, they do not want to upset these activities as they are making far too much cash from them

i stopped using ebay about a year ago now and have no regrets, ebay itself is massively responsible for the amount of fakes that are manufactured nowadays, such and easy outlet for the scum that decide to make and sell this stuff and ebay seems quite happy to let it happen

I use that site to buy UK DVDs... You have some nice special editions that will never be released in Brazil, so... And they are cheap, too!

Bought my Lord of the Rings Gift Boxes from there for 1/6 of the price in Brazil stores...

Ebay is great for a lot of stuff and horrible for other. It really depends on what you are looking for.
Bought a fake SD card some time ago, did report the shop and he is out of business now, but probably sells the same crap under 10 other user accounts.

I concur that Ebay is also responsible for the increasing number of fakes that are being produced and sold as they really don't seem to care too much.

the packaging was amazing though, all printed properly, all accessories were there.... they go to some real trouble to make them seem real

Probably 8 out of 10 never realize it's a fake, that's why. A lot of fakes these days are hard to identify. Ebay is also responsible, because their rating system for shops gives buyers a false sense of security. If they would react to reports about fraudulent merchandise in a timely fashion these shops couldn't continue their activities like they do now.

But then again, Ebay might be bankrupt in no time if they hired about 10000 more employees to deal with all the complaints, all the while losing business doing it, lol.

TBH you may even have sellers not knowing they are selling fakes, they may get from a supplier a few originals on their first order and then the subsequent stock are all fakes.

Basically if buying Sennheisers or any big brand earphones, make sure you get them from an authorized seller, yeah you will probably end up having to pay a little more, but then again you will have a pair that you know are originals.

I was just wondering how much these fakes cost, and how bad the audio quality actually is after 'degrading'. I was just wondering if it would be worth buying some of these over some cheaper known quality ones, just if they are a low price, or are they really that bad sound quality?
Of course, I don't want to encourage the selling of fake earphones by deliberately buying them.

Though I probably wouldn't buy any anyway, I think next time I get some money I'll be getting some Beta Brainwaves.

TBH just dont even go there

a classic fakers like is "UK seller" - this means crap dont fall for it - they protest at the beginning with all sorts of spin about being registered with and getting from - its all spin - it really is not worth getting stuff like this from ebay, you cant outwit them and just dont buy them and as you say, dont encourage them it really aint worth it

this is difficult to say because you need to hear for yourself and judge, every ear is different and everybody has a different personal taste/setting for their sound, i.e. some people swear on the ipod standard earphones which i, for example, cannot imagine :shock:

but in general, my personal experience is, is that branded earphones are much better than cheaper ones in terms of build quality, sound quality, durability etc. actually, i buy most of my accessoires offline and branded because they have to endure most so i need something strong
