for now you will have to convert them to PDF which is easy as there is a free PDF printer driver available, it installs as a printer (virtual) and its as easy as pressing the print button and selecting the PDF printer, done in seconds

its called PDFCreator

Excellent! The PDF in its current state should be able to handle relatively simple documents with no images right?

yeah, no probs i think, but it may be down to version number, not testyed that far, some wont load at all and they were just text with maybe a graph or chart in and some do, some images will load though, i did download some FiiO product PSF files with images and none displayed - so its hit and miss but i think

the pdf printer can save files in different PDF formats to version 6 (on the install i have) and can manage how images are handled within the PDF and so it may be a good thing to install

I'm sure that app would come in handy for any portable devices with PDF viewing capabilities that are not 100% compatible with all PFD versions/complexity levels and other variable factors.

Can you use that same app to change the formatting a bit as well so the files are easier to view on the smaller screens of these portable devices as well? That would also be invaluable... in fact that's just what the PSP pdf reading app needs since with its medium size screen and resolution (the size is the same as the os-72) it's a real pain to read any pdf since you usually end up moving right to left to read each line and that's not conductive to good reading.

well i suppose you would do the formatting in the source app, so if its a word doc then do the formatting there. Its not really an app but is the same dialog box you get when using a normal printer, there is an options panel and alot can be set, like version, DPI, image save options etc etc

That works. I'll google more on this when the urge strikes me :) .
