Hi, i need some help.
This morning, when i tried to turn off my onda, nothing happen, not a orange screen or red screen, just nothing.
My player was plugged all night so i thought he was fully charged.
Well, here come the trouble. When i plugged my onda to my computer, it recognises the player as a 0 gb free and 0 gb drive.
When i try to open it thought windows XP, Xp only allow me to format it.
I say now.

Back to home at night i tried this guide : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8443
Got a error at step (6). The reset seem to have no effect on the player.
I tried to clic yes even if i don't get an proper restart. It lead me to a new windows with still incomprehensible message which lead me again to the windows of the step (6).

At this point, i have nothing to lose so i just try to update my firmware. Even if I chose English, the all program is in Chinese by the way. So i can't help you very much about my error.. I got the ROCK USB message but after the step (19), i've got an error message.

On the meantime, a windows pop-up, trying to install an new usb device. I follow the step in order to install the Rk27 drive : nothing strange happen !!
But when i try again to update my onda, or even cleaning : more error.
In fact, now, my onda can't be seen in "My computer".

I don't know what to do. I've see that a man seem to have the same issue except that i don't have a red screen, i have nothing...
It's my second onda and it is a new one. Only few week old.. Just in time for my holidays..

Is there any warranties or anything I could do ?

I apologise for this wall of text and my poor English. I open a new thread even if the last two seem to got the same issue as me as i don't want to mix-up the 3 users.

Also, i got windows Xp, try on two different pc (both Xp) and i currently live in France. Both of my players were buy here. And i don't have any special theme. I was on my way ton create my own so ... :/. I never try my own theme on my onda.

this is worrying to say the least, this is possibly 3 now and i am having no luck at all recovering gregs player at all

if the drive is showing zero bytes than this is a major problem and needs sending back for repair as the only way to get the memory back is to open the player and this is then not guaranteed to work, best send it back im afraid and raz, can you contact onda and see what or if there is anythig wrong with the 787 players memory because this is the 3rd one now with zero bytes

Not that it would ever happen, but it seems like Onda needs to do a recall. Something going on here with these later releases.

And, just in case you didn't see it raz:

To who ? I don't have the mail adress of raz. Do you think he will agreed to send back a good player ? :/

I might know an uncle who is able to do such a thing but, open the player and do what? I'm kinda lost here :'(

Thanks for your concern.

if you bought from raz then raise an RMA request then you will get it done under warranty (possibly)

opening the player and swiping the memory chips allows us to get the memory back and then allows us to reinstall the firmware BUT this may not solve the problem, i have a player here with the same problem and while i can get the memory back again and i try and reinstall th firmware the player suddennly dies again and reverts back to zero bytes, so in this state it seems that it will be very unstable

I bought it from raz indeed. I still got the order confirmation in my mailbox.

I still got few question anyway : RMA stand for ?
How long will the warranty be "on" ? I bought if few times ago but we never know.
I think that i will not try to open the mp3, not skilled enough.

Moreover, i've got an other onda vx787, orderer with raz for my sis', what should i do to prevent this?

RMA - basically a returns authorization, open a support ticket with all your order details on and the problem and they will reply with a proper RMA number to place on the parcel and return address, assuming the player is still in warranty that is

Well this issue is a bit new to me, not sure what could be causing it, right now the solution does look like it needs to be sent to us to be then sent to Onda to fix.

I can ask Onda and see what i get from them, but i fear it will be a dead end
