1. Connect your VX545 to your PC and copy the VX545HD.hxf file to the root of your player
2. Safely disconnect the VX545.
3. Shut it down.
4. Hold the volume down button and press the on button briefly.
Keep the volume down button pressed until the FW update begins.
Let the FW update finish and the player will restart with the new FW.

Its from razorblade I did it the same way! No you can install it directly why not install version 2.1 or 2.2b?

thank you very much, but it is not enough
1) i have to download the firmware file 1.0 - 1.3
2) what about the other 2.1 and 2.2
3) after the download:
must i extract them with winzip ?
4) if not extract, then into which folder i have to put them?
you have music, video, pictures...

5) last question: is there a firmware can handle my battery problem:
after full charge it only is useable for 1 hour ...that cannot be
video movies like cartoons only one hour?

You can downlod them from the onda page. Refer to other topics on the Onda forums for the links.

Use Winrar to extract the contents to a new (temporary) directory on your PC

Connect the Onda to the PC, and once the USB has connected and you can see the Onda drive, copy the .HXF file across and leave it in the ROOT directory of the Onda. This is the ONLY file you need to copy over.

Then, as Neoman says, disconnect the Onda PROPERLY from your PC. Turn the Onda off. Restart it holding down the VOL - button until the ChinaCip Firmware update screen pops up. Then LEAVE it do it's thing. It will take a few minutes.

After it comes back up, it will revert to Chinese. Use the buttons to navigate to the Setup screen, Select the Globe symbol which is "language" and select English.

Your battery issue intrigues me. Have you properly charged it overnight since you had it? I fully charged mine the first time overnight, and then ran it until it turned itself off (playing movies on its own). I could tell that it had gone through more than 3 movies because the "resume" files were created for four of them. Then I charged it up overnight again. I am getting better than 5-6 hours from the unit with high quality DivX mp4 videos.

Try a full discharge and then a full recharge. Normally you would not like to completey flatten the battery but the first few times helps "set it up".
