VX858 ??? tried everything, pics

ok got this MP4 player from chinavasion worked great for about a day then the screen calibration went all over the shop, i calibrated it and was ok, but next time youd turn it on it would go crazy again.

scouted around, and decided to update the firmware with the OEM version on here but it never worked and would just leave the lock on the screen when u tried to select an option

i dont have a problem with getting into usb mode and used about 10 different firmwares but i still have the similar problem. any sugesestions thanks lads

If you didn't already try you can try using the YZ Digital firmware: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=X6M1ME4B

The mainboard does look a little different than other VX858LE clones.

If you recently got this try to get an exchange with Chinavasion if you can, it must be a hardware issue if the touch screen didn't work right.

ye ive notice it looks different, didnt know if it was a LE or not, it wasnt cheap to get it sent over so i dont really wanna send it back

it was working fine if u calibrate it right but then it would go back to how it was after restarting. ill give that firmware another go, thanks

just flashed it now and it still does that "hold.....unlock" thing when i select something

grrr getting on me wick now

same problem with the pad lock, only this one is a large yellow one

It's for an unbranded 2.8" touch screen MP4 player, at the moment I'm not sure if it's a VX858LE clone firmware or a firmware for an unbranded VX858 or VX858LE.

Also a member named "cjrocks331" on the forums is also experiencing the same firmware problem as you, you can see his very-recent thread here: viewtopic.php?t=1588

nope no joy, try pressing the screen and nothing happens, used the reset button and still doing it

looks like a bin job, cant find a firmware that works out there!!

Unforunately I can't find a working firmware also, I have e-mailed the admin and the original manufacturer of the VX858LE clones for a more recent firmware as I suspect a hardware revision with these clones.
