but what about touch screen players based on these new chips, when will we see those

i find these high res video players useless because of the buttons and without any features to break the video down into chapters/time slots buttons are just a serious pain

china is making alot of players dedicated to video BUT no functionality, yes, they are playing HD and many formats BUT the functionality for actually navigating and playing with videos is appalling

where is the bookmarking?
where is the decent navigation FF and REW buttons are not good enough, search by time is not good enough
take a look at the samsung P3 or cowon S9 mosaic feature for the way to do it

to me the focus on piling in HD, MKV, blah blah is irrelevant is the usbility is useless

hmm you've got a point there maderin, as always, i guess it's human nature to get carried away by big numbers, the bigger the better (do you know the expression "the grass is always greener at the neighbours"?) and become blind for anything else. well at least my human nature is lol but i'm gonna take a step back otherwise i might make the same mistake as with the 535hd :o ops:

i'd like to see something like the s:flo but more powerful and a bit bigger like 3,5" or something. still somehow in the back of my head i'm tempted to get the s:flo because of the fenomenal audio quality, capacitive touch screen and dynamic scrolling. i'm using it more for music anyway. this big mouth of mine wanting to have MKV support etc. bla bla is just because i happen to have a source with rare blu-ray rips but reality is, i actually dont watch videos but listen to music mainly. well, sometimes i watch a small video (mainly music videos :D )

i was lol at an article on one of the new players in china that claimed it could do HD at full 1080 (or whatever but they could not test their vid as the FAT 32 on the player could not handle the size of the video :) - man, what are they playing at, every action has reaction .. so make a player play full HD means you need to have a player that can actually STORE the bloody files in the first place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol .. lol .. lol

Much more powerful on paper, certainly. I'm not holding my breath. Why is everyone and his dog copying DSP+ARM solutions? Must be the money, or because it's easy (as in cheap), or ..... this is all fake competition and these chips from Rockchip, Sunplus, Chinachip and Sochip are the same when you look at them under the microscope :-)

I wish Ingenic would stop milking their jz4740 cash cow and really put the hurt on the competition (assuming there is one) by going to 90 nm.
