ok, i got sick of the toolbar, aero peek and not having the quick launch (OMG :shock :) so i found some guides on how to bring it back to "classic" as close as possible. the main thing for me was the "show desktop" and quick launch bar which i now have. also, i found a guide on how to bring back the windows live messenger icon to the notification area (simply put in Vista compatability mode and it will minimize to notification area, also when closing it will not totally shut down like previously)

looks like this now :P

windows 7 is nice, but for gaming folk, punkbuster and this OS do not get along. so if you wanna game online, and the game has PB, i say avoid for the minute. wish i knew before i did it, praying for a quick fix for it, cos im lazy and don't wanna do another clean install

I've seen many vids about the starting speed of 7 and vista: 7 beats vista with few seconds. Dunno about XP though.

i dont notice any difference really, feels even a bit slower but that might be because i upgraded from vista

It of course depends on what stuff you had enabled/installed on vista/7. I mean if you had tweaked vista to the maximum it would probably be faster than un-tweaked 7.
My friend tweaked his Vista as much as he could and took all of the unnecessary stuff off that started along the system and the system was like twice as fast as before. :)
