Happy to see that Oppo is going to release the S5 successor - the Smart S11. Hopefully it is not gonna suffer the firmware issues that S5 had.
The design resembles the nice Samsung P2 and I suppose it will have the search features of the Smart S9.

No idea about the chip, though.

It's great to see Oppo putting so much effort into GUI design, but for only packing the new Rockchip, I think the S9 is pushing the limits on price: 599RMB for 2GB?? That's the same (supposed) price as the 4GB Teclast M30, which has the Wolfson 8987 complementing the new Rockchip. The Teclast also has an AMOLED. At least I'm assuming it's Rockchip-only as the S9 is priced 100RMB less than the V9 with its Rockchip-Wolfson configuration. Granted the S9 is memory-expandable, but Oppo really does have rather high opinions of all its players. With a 3-inch touchscreen, I wonder how the S11 will be priced??

I also wonder if the S11 is really an S5 replacement. The S5 is still pretty fresh and assuming the S11 also uses the Rockchip to take advantage of all the work they put into the S9's interface, then it would be a step backward from the ADI processor and its eventual replacement/successor.

i saw this a couple of days ago and did not think it was genuine

the whole style of the promo images seem amateur to me, like it was done by some beginner photoshop artist

and why would oppo be releasing info like this during the CNY holidays - it all sounds wrong to me, i cant as yet see any info on oppo web site about this player

i am having a good look around to try and find info, i usually only believe info like this if i can see at least a snippit on the official website

I'm a bit confused at these new "smart" labels Oppo is coming out with. Do they merely reference the different UI or is there something else? :?:

it is a sort of search feature that other players are missing. You can type few letters and it filters the music beginning with (containing?) that letter.

you can find some more info here:

meh it looks decent. i don't like that orange band that goes around it. It feels out of place, besides it doesn't even match the UI color scheme...speaking of which it looks like a samsung or san disk player i saw once...i don't remember which.;o
