I think we could do better than those designs, the above stand seems to bulky, i think we could do something better in a more minimalistic design.

i love a dock or two

but its got to be solid and practical, i don't like that to just be a stand, if i dock a tablet i want to be able to use the tablet within the dock, some of those you pictured above would slide about when trying to user the device, so yes, minimal nice but solid and make sure it wont topple or slide about when the device is poked and prodded and also ensure space for a charging connector as well

of course, you have to add more wideness, make it big enough to be stable (3rd needs some rubber-pins, too),
just some basic ideas....

I agree the stand or dock needs to be functional, and I'm a proponent of the minimalism. The challenge is to marry form and function to come up with a good design.

well whatever happens im looking forward to seeing what you come up with, just sorry its not a bit busier around here, back in the day, not so long back, you would have had page and pages of replies but times change, people are spread to the 4 corners of the web now

We could also just make really tall versions of some of the headphone stands we're working on and they could be some fancy hat stands
