The new HD8800 from Gemei appears to be using the china chip CC1600 chip but with some very marked differences than we are used to from this chip

it appears that they now have support for full HDMI output at all the stupid resolutions
gain support for MP4 encoded video (.MP4) and MOV (.mov) WMV (.wmv) etc etc

from this image we see that the player has multiple TV OUT setting to choose

1080P on the TV

so, is this the latest update to the CC1600 or is it an upgraded chip or is it a firmware only available to players housing the HDMI port

well we see now why development has ground to a halt on the cc1600 chipset - say hello to cc1800

yep, it seems my guess was right, the player here is indeed using updated chip - the cc1800 - so if anyone has a cc1600 and hoping for higher res support may b totally out of luck as it seems developmnt for hiher res support needed new hardware

see review here
http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... 9%26sa%3DG

you will see pretty much the same UI as on cc1600 and also you ewill see the new ebook app that was only ever done for onda beta firmware

from what i have seen,it uses the (chinachip CC09 )Chip, looks like the ramos t11 from the front, are touchscreen players falling out of fashion or something?,or is it just a matter of keeping the player price low to consumers by going with buttons?

There are some strange things going on about this Player users report that the bought version with firmware 1.0 plays nearly nothing Gemei advertises in these Pictures strange thing if you ask me especially as the player is on sale already. From those information i think what you see on these Screens is a Beta Firmware with optimized Decoders though i would wait wait for the real tests of this player.

What I would recommend is to generate a sfv file with e.g Quicksfv (google it, it's free) or some other application that can create a crc file of all the files in the unpacked Teclast FW and compare that to the other FW, you might find that there are a number of identical files in both FW's, those files you obviously don't have to worry about.

The rest is pretty much mix'n match, some files of the top of my head you wanna use from the Teclast FW are in the \system\res\ini folder, if your microsdhc card makes trouble be sure to use the MemoryCard.psw file, the same goes for the KEYConfig.psw and the USBConfig.psw, LCDConfig.psw etc. file, that might already solve your problem. As a general rule, use as many files of the original Teclast FW as necessary to get everything to run properly but start out with the FW that has the added functionality and put the Teclast ini files (mentioned above) in there and repack and see if everything works as it should.

Hope this helps.

Looks like this player is using Telechips after all: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/ ... pG7zLljcpg Some forum members seem to be skeptical though. The UI screams ChinaChip to me.

mmm, very oddd but it makes sense as there really is no news like normal about the new CC chip thats supposed to power this thing

this is all bull anyway, the race for 1080p is the biggest waste of time and money ever, oh it would be great to have it but for gods sake its too bloody soon for all this crap - the players are aiming for a goal that really is a few years away yet with regard to the full and proper management of full HD files on portable media players - memeort sapce and battery life are massive limiting factors to all this plus the fact that all this MKV and HD is producing such a variation of different files and setting that these player cant even play most of what people have anyway - STOP PISSING around and be bloody realistic here, forget portable 1080p playback for at least another year maybe 2 -damn i hate all this bloody HD RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - sorry rant over!!!!!!!

It's all a means in order to sell new players in China everything has to be exaggerated over there it seems.
Mainly pisses of Westeners who take their claims seriously :-).
Reminds me of early Japanese motorcycles like the Kawa Z1000 which had an insane engine but a really bad chassis, lots of people managed to kill themselves on that one. Over time the Japanese learned to build really great motorcycles but it took them a while.

not only westerners but Chinese customers are constantly disappointed and confused also, probably more-so as the amount of player on sale over there is 50 times more then what we see here - its a ridiculous mine field for all and many Chinese users from what i have seen on the forums are as pissed off as we are about all the HD stuff, in my eys 1080p should not even have been in any player till end next year and they probably should have just tried to get 270p sorted as far as possible first then work from there -
