This looks very decent: http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/04/iriv ... ous-batte/

If its screen is as good as V6000HDT then I think we have a winner! Can't wait to see more information on this player.

Wow, it's been a eon since the P7 was released. That one was really popular in China. The P7 used a Rockchip, but those battery figures for the P8 wouldn't seem to be RK-type numbers.

nah - they seem more like sochip times, iriver do like to use china tech and ad there own spin to it, as it states SRS on the back it could well be the new gen Actions chip and they may have taken advantage of the fact it supports true FLASH based UI development?? - although so far players using the actions have been piss poor on battery

Thanks maderin. Looks like we might have a new contender for all those mourning the loss of powerful, video-centric PMPs. iriver is no slouch with their UI design, so this could be a cross-cultural winner.

well thats where the P7 won out, it was a rockchip but not as we knew it - well at least in UI design and functionality, underneath it still had the shortcoming and instability of the RK27 series - they can only change so much

Nice looking player, if their UI in the renderings is what the real end UI will look like then it would probably end up having the nicest looking Sochip/boxchip UI. I do hope they work on the music player as sochips music players always lacked many features and was never laid out properly, which made sochip based player not exactly the most friendly for playing music.

if its iRiver then yes, it will look like that, its OK but too "osx" looking for my liking, i think the bottom shelf and the whole UI is below par for iRiver design, they are usually alot nicer than this

I will withhold my praise till the first video comes out showing how the UI really looks and functions, if they pull it off then the China sochip player makers really need to put their heads down in shame for the lack of effort they placed into the UI development.
