So it appears AMLogic will be soon releasing a dual core 1.5Ghz version of their 8726 chipset called the MX, which will be a dual core A9 affair with the usual Mali 400 GPU from previous versions. The first model will be the Ramos W17PRO, a 7 inch tablet with 1024x600 display and 1GB DDR3.

Wonder if the battery will last for longer than 5 minutes...

Supposed benchmarks....

As with all of these, time will tell all...but it looks like a nice one,all except for the 7" part(still dont get why companies still like that useless form factor....)

I like the 7" form factor, as you've said elsewhere D2K, it's not great for viewing web pages, but in my experience it's great for eBook reading and portability. But I think my next tablet will be a larger affair.

This looks good though, If I'm to buy another tablet it would need a high definition screen and at least 1GB of ram.

Darwin.

In terms of migrating your usage to android tablets from a pc environment, if your usage is quite lite and nothing overly fancy, an iPad or Android tablets should suit you fine. The caveat being that you simply cannot do everything you would do on a computer, on a tablet. Tablets are meant for consumption, not productivity and in this sense, they shine. Their portability for reading and checking email and browsing are excellent. Beyond that, while they can be customized with apps to make them more productivity-efficient, not all consumers will wish to do this. Some people do just want plug and play.

To add to this, all you really need is an Android PHONE for just the same purpose...a tablet isnt even necessary. But some of us are going blind in our old age(ahem..) and could use the bigger screen real estate to help out,so tabs are somewhat useful to certain folks. As they say,to each his/her own ;)
