TA,

Have you used a memory card yet? if so what kind/brand? Do you think any micro sd will work (any class)?
How is the external speaker? How is the video? Have you tried various formats? I myself own a creative zen vision M and have been impressed by all the formats it plays (99% of what I throw on it).

Thanks,

Yes i have used a memory card in it, it was a 1gb sandisk card, and everything worked perfectly.
and i think any class of micro sd would work...
and all the formats raz states that it plays on the product page table, it does, and the external speaker isn't that loud, if you want really good external sound, heres a tip, be next to a radio with really good speakers.

I'm sooooo jealous now! Ha! Can't wait for mine to come - could you expand on the photo thing cos in Raz' review it looked VERY annoying having to go back to menu and rotate image to view it properly, how does it work now? And which firmware are you running?

Also do you see any controls via the video out?
Cheers!

Well how the new photo thing works is that, you don't need to rotate anything, you can zoom in on the photos, and move them about, It's really quite impressive.
I'm running the Firmware that it came with: V1.2
NOTE: DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE, YOU'LL LOOSE TV-OUT...

Oh and the controls for the tv out come up on the TV screen, and you can fast forward, put the sound through the players speaker, and pause/Play.

there is an option to change the colour of the ebook text but not the firmware text, i don't think, unless you mod the firmware.

Tim, is there any chance you would be able to help the community by uploading a copy of you're players firmware.

As a programmer you will find it very easy to acces the firmware partition and making a copy of the raw firmware folders and files, see this post for information on how to do it -

VISIT

I believe that all the firmware on Onda's site is for the Chinese version of the VX777LE which does not have TV out, some users believed that by updating the firmware they could test it and if necessary downgrade it to get the TV out back, but if all the firmware is for the Chinese market then even the very first firmware will not have TV out.

If you can do this, can you also let us know which firmware version you are running.

Thanks,

SeaSprite
