I have heard from people saying that V3000 uses a RK2706 chipset and that is the reason the video performance is not that good. But the specs page on the main website shows that the player is equipped with a RK2708 Chip so can any tell me what is the chip that they are using?.

Was it they used 2706 on the primitive release and have they changed to RK2708 after that?. Can someone explain the real scene behind this player?

Thanks.

it uses 2708, though not sure why as its not a faster chip and the only difference is that it has built in camera functionality, so it is 2708 chip and not 2706

Thanks dude. You are fast. So the RK2708 does not perform better. But i don't really get the point, how come the player not capable of playing videos with a high bitrate, even back when i was using my RM970, i used to download Hi res videos(800*480) and played them on my RM970 and they were perfect. If a 2706 can do it the way it has to be then why not a 2708. I really don't understand the point here, i still get the mapping that is happening but as far my concern i would say the mapping is the same even if its a 480 pixel screen or a 800 pixel screen. The rendering that is happening and the output that comes out of the chip are the same for both the players. Then how come the difference? Any ideas.

Thanks.

well i think your misreading what others are saying, just because one person says they have videos that won't work properly, it doesn't mean you will be faced with the same problem, people convert different and these affect how well the video will playback on a player.

You should see the same playback quality between the RM970 and V3000 for the same video.

You are right Raz, you have a point there, but i have tried the same video on both the players raz and to me they both seem to perform the same way, but i am not critic or a pro. So as a common user it looks as if they both are the same video. The 2708 doesn't boast much. So is this any kinda FW problem or does this have something to do with the screen on the players, or is it about the make. I am not that good on technicality of players, but i would like to know better about them to get the best out of them, that is the reason i keep asking questions to make myself clear on what is what. So i hope i don't make you people mad by asking my stupid questions. My apologies.

Thanks.

i think the 2708 chipset really doesn't differ much from the 2706 chip, expect that the 2708 chip seems to have been made for players that have a better screen resolution.
