We have just added our first hard drive PMP players, the Optimus Ivy.

I want to know what you prefer, larger bulkier players, capable of holding much more memory, or smaller compact players that use flash based memory. Let me know what you think and prefer.

i prefer bigger players. the size doesnt bother me and it is nice to be able to put a ton of stuff on your player and just leave it there for a while. right now i have a cheap Chipod that plays video. it has 2 gig memory which is cool, but i have to transfer a lot of files and put new things on there frequently. the only problem is, the player with built in harddrives tend to be a pretty good bit more expensive than the smaller flash players

both :D
i use a smaller-capacity flash-based player for everyday use (work/running/lazing around), but for long trips, i'll bring a hard drive player, so i don't have to worry about which songs/videos i want to bring with me on any given trip.

the ivy looks awesome, and seems like a great alternative to my iPod.

can't they be small compact and have a large amount of memory????

I like something i can carry around easily but allows for video and music. The iPod classic is basically what i would consider a good mix, but it doesn't allow for a lot of different video formats.

that would be nice. if my V2000 works ok, the only thing that would make it better is if it came with a hard drive. it doesnt even need to be 40 gig, i dont need that much all the time. something like 10-15 gig harddrive would be perfect. are there any small players with hard drives that size? they all seem to be 30, 40, 60, or 80, sometimes even bigger

I'd really like to see some thin flash based players with large screens, say around 4".

I'd rather have big ones, because I would only use it for video.

bigger screens mean they can handle better quality videos which mean larger files - shame larger flash memory can't be cheaper.
