Thinking of Buying a Rocktab

Hi all,

Chris here from the UK. I have been looking for a entry level android device for a few months now and have still not found one to purhcase. After reading some post and watching some videos of the rocktab i am now intrested in this device but wanted to know will it be ok for what i want to use it for.

The reason i am looking to purchase is i travel around the UK and Europe with work and tend to leave the laptop at work alot. The type of device i am looking for is something that will do genral internet searches. webmail (yahoo), youtube and also does flash and the odd game from the market place.

Will the Rocktab do all this?

Also has anyone had any issues with customs / import duty in the UK. i.e being charged extra to receive this by Royal Mail Post due to it coming from outside the EU.

Also is there any Pro's and Con's to the rocktab

Most of members from UK said, they don't get charged for import tax sent from HK.

So when it comes to websites with Flash will it show as a blank screen.

Good to hear about uk buyers not being charged.

What are derlivery times like from shipping to receving the device

I'm assuming it'd be the same as like the iphone/ipad where it will show a blank space where the flash object would be.

Missing content icon, I am having luck with the Skyfire version for 1.5, haven't found a site I couldn't use yet!

Hi, I am uk n u will have no problems buying from hong kong re customs, EMS can get here in 2-3days, normal mail 7-10 days
if all u want is flash for video then there are other options as mentioned, a lot better than power hogging mess that flash isx sooner vwe get rid of flash for anything other than gwmes tge better

So if you dont recommend a rocktab what do you recommend

The Rocktab sounds fine for what you say you want it for, apart from flash, but in general flash is not handled well on even the best Android devices out there, flash simply does not work like it does on your PC at home, this is mainly due to flash being such a resource hog, as Madarin1 pointed out.

If you really need flash for whatever you need this for, then stick with your laptop as there really aren't any tablets out there, be it a no name from China to the Samsung galaxy that can handle all flash sites like your PC can.
