fair enough, but weren't in their own pr statements statements saying the same touch screen technology used on the iTouch being used on the Q5.

Can the player stream Videos from you tube? etc? or it just just usable for like uhh face book and Google and forums etc?

Anyways the player looks quite nice itself, will be waiting for a video to see its quality right now im thinking of buying one lol.

Video streaming from youtube doesn't work and in general the video playback is pretty buggy, but avi files do play nice and image quality is good, but the SMplayer just isn't implemented correctly on the device.

Audio quality is good, but i was expecting that from smartq.

The battery life with wifi on isn't too great, looking at 2 - 3 hrs.

Even if it dosent do java and flash(not sure if it does or not),it still would make a great step up from a normal PMP,as you can check emails and stuff in between watching movies and listening to music, which Smart Q apparently does well.A good concept if they can pull it off.Is it confirmed yet if this is using an established Linux OS yet, or is it just incorporating some of the features of Linux into a hobbled together distro of their own?

supposedly Adobe will be releasing a Flash version that's compatible with ARM procs later this year (according to their press releases) so don't expect to see flash for now.

It is a Linux distro as far as I have seen/read from people who have the Q5's in China already

Not exactly, I have the Acer Aspire one netbook, and while its portable, tis not fit in your pocket portable. I'd much rather go for this Q5 to carry around with me

This is smaller, lighter and doesn't make noise. Battery life might be better. You can choose/replace your (extra large) keyboard. You can travel between keyboards.
