You cannot get into this discussion showing a protective case. My opinion is a player needs to be strong from itself, with no extra costs at all. I had the touch for one week (borrowed it from a friend to check out if to buy or not to buy), and to be honest i really hate apple and its image. When you check out ads on tlevisoin they always talk about "get this on your iPod or MP3!", wtf: they are both the same?! But, i gave it a try and to be honest im happy i have a OS-43. And, i dont know what im doing wrong but im not experiencing any major bugs which irritate me or something.

After trying it out for a week, i still hate apple. Mainly because of iTunes, why not just drag and drop? Ok, i love the touch screen, its just good quality. I do not like its thinness, makes it look so fragile. I like to have a good, heavy and strong PMP (why not buy a MP3 if you want something lightweight and easy to carry?). Thats what I have now, the OS-43 and a Sansa Clip for daily usage. I use the OS-43 for videos mainly, because nothing can beat the Clip's music quality. Ill have a Nanite N1 soon by the way, cant wait to receive and compare it to my Clip.

I gave the touch back to my friend, who just loves it (ok.. apps are cool, but i use them 1 time and delete them). Still sticking to my combination players (os43 and clip (soon N1)).

I will never buy something from Apple, just because of its name. I just hate the fact people dont compare the same kind of players with each other. Nowadays there are far more better quality PMPs out there. And in the end, isnt it just for the great Music you have? The thingy is in your pocket all the time, unless you want to show it off (hate that too). I do liek technologies and the future, but i do not like iPod being its own kind of players. That one of the reasons i support chinese players (god, ive brought this website lots of unique visitors by just telling this website had a 7 inch(!) LTPS video player, haha).

Sorry for the nonsense, off to bed now!

Wow

Actually, now that i have a rebeltouch case, i dropped my itouch and nothing happened!
Look into getting one, its a bit expensive though [40 AUD]
http://images.macnn.com/macnn/news/0809/rebel2g.jpg

Thats right, half silicone and half plastic. Looks awesome and feels great in your hand!
Also comes with a stand and a lot of other stuff.

The whole point of the itouch is its size, nice and compact to fit in my pocket well.Any case good enough to protect it from damage would ruin that. The only thing I use is Invisible Shield,as scratchs are something I hate(works great!!).I like a player to have natural resistance from abuse, not artificial. The touch cost me over $300.00US....it should be better made, period.

exactly i hate that, they are the same thing, its like saying "you can eat this with any type of food and pizza" same category :P

and im with you about the apps, they are a novely "ooh i can play guitar hero on my ipod ooooooh" yeh, that thrill lasts 2 minutes when you realise its not worth the $5 you bought it for in the app store.

i have an iphone, but i got it dirt cheap... not from a store... and i have to send it to a shop in sydney to get the battery replaced
i get cracked apps for it, but mainly delete them afterwards cos i realize they arnt that great,, but i do love one app ... autotune for the iphone... makes people who cant sing (ie.. me :P ) sound good, and even then its a short time wasted on it..

well fahout, if you are truley happy with it, then im glad for you :) and its good that you are not just following the ipod trend, you actually had an mp4player and then got the ipod as you liked the user inteface... not because its the latest shiny thing from apple

:)

With all this talk & comparison with Apple and other manufacturers, it reminds me of why I don't care for Apple products. It all goes back to the time of the 8-bit computers and when 64 K of RAM was the standard( about 1985). I bought an Atari 800XL with 64 K at a little over $300. The Apple, which had 48 K of RAM, was much more expensive and more complicated to start up with its disks & disk drive than my Atari. My department head who had an Apple was amazed at how much more I was able to do than he with his Apple PC. I was doing all kinds of word processing and programming at that time to help me in my work as a teacher. BTW, the apple programs( = apps in today's lingo) were more expensive than the Atari counterparts. Atari was perceived as a game machine but was more advanced in sound & graphics than the Apple, IBM and the initial IBM Clones PCs. Atari was an advanced PC for its time but the Intel chip PCs advertising killed Atari and nearly killed Apple. The Apple lovers are lobotomized as far as I an concerned; they pay for an over-price proprietized product which in many instances is not up to the level of some of its competitors. Apple made it solely because of certain innovations and because of their marketing of their products.

From my experience, for what its does for what I want done, Apple products are over-priced and to restrictive( = not allow 3rd party sources without some big compensation[ AT&T and iphone for example]) in their policies. The price and the openness of the non-Apple products are what appeal to me. Some features of Apple products are better but some are also not as good as their competitors' products. Sure, I am not 100% happy with my OS-43(see some of my previous posts), but who is also 100% happy with their Apple or other competitors' product. For the price and for what I want to use it for and how it performs, I am very happy with my OS-43.

So, back to the matter at hand, but does nationite even use its support ticket system?
Its been 10 days since the last reply.
If your going to make cutomers wait this long, dont even bother having a support ticket

Also, i want to know why you guys insist on buying chinese PMP's?
Is it the price?
I mean what feature does an OS-43 have, that an itouch doesnt?
Discuss.

Both have their downsides.

OS43 Pluses
-Every movie and tv show that i have downloaded has NEVER had to be converted. super huge file support.
-MS Sound EQ is amazing, especially the bass preset
-battery lasts a long time
-its slim and uses a touch strip. a touch screen would interfere while holding the player and watching a movie
-microSD memory card support
-drag and drop drive interface in windows explorer

OS43 Minuses
-UI is slowww, jittery and sometimes unresponsive when browsing micro SD card
-Even china has an alphabet. no programmer is that retarded to not allow alphabetized lists
-microSD card doesn't integrate
-NO FREAKIN SILICONE SKIN!!!
-its discontinued, so no more support

iTouch Pluses
-fast UI
-web browser
-touch screen
-apps and games
-even slimmer
-skype might even work now...

iTouch minuses
-no flash support in web browser
-1.3 inches smaller screen
-wasted space cus you have to hold it somehow...
-apps cost $$$
-conversion time in hours/days for every single movie that you wanna watch so really there's no file support unless its crapple's
-iTunes sucks. why are you forced to use it?
-no SD card support

You have to decide on what functions you need the most and make your decision. I made the decision that i want to watch 2 hour 700mb AVI's that i download off the net on the subway every day while not having to waste precious time converting. everything else was a bonus. CrApple did not offer a product for my needs...and they still dont.
