Greetings to you all!
I already had 2 MIDnite tablets, running Android 2.2 and 2 weeks ago I decided to buy a third one as a birthdaygift for my mother.
Yesterday I received the package (payed extra for quick delivery, 'cause it had to be on time ofcourse) and I turned it on;
"Big White Black Flashes On The Screen!"
Android 2.2 came up, the screen was frozen, nothing happened... So I decided to flash the firmware to Android 2.3 (which I wanted to do afterall, curious as I am for the new operating system). Since I already have 2 other tablets I can do the flash-thing eyes-wide-shut;
Format SD-card FAT32 using HP-tool, remove battery, insert card, connect wallcharger, press power + volume (retry 10 times, because 9 out of 10 this won't work), etc...
Well, after a few tries it worked out; Android 2.3 was installed and after the flash-thing the tablet went off by itself...
...and never turned on!
I tried everything; removing the battery, waiting for 12 hours, recharging, reflashing, pushing the reset-hole on the bottom (is there really something in that hole?!), etc...
Nothing worked out - the tablet is dead, as dead can be... Because I've 2 other tablets, I decided to switch batteries;
The one that came with the new tablet worked 100% fine in the other tablets, and the old batteries... worked for one time only in the new tablet! So it wasn't a battery thing... By the way; the green light is green when fully powered (I charged the first battery for almost 18 hours to be sure it was full), it's red/green when low on energy and... dimmed when off

The only time the new device turned on was for about 5 minutes; but I couldn't do much with it... all mayor Android services crashed during start-up, or had to be forced-closed, the screen is extreme not-responsive (at least 5 times worse than the resistive version) and another bad thing;
I was not able to sign up with a new / default Google account for entering the market or any other Android-based services; I got the message that my 'phone' was not accepted by Google anylonger... Offcourse I tried Z4Root (it crashed), tried modifying the firmware with ADB (I do develop Android software, so I know what to do...), etc...
Nothing worked out; once the tablet turned of, it never turned on - flashing is not possible, switching batteries does nothing, the screen is not responding, Google is not allowing the device to use the market, etc...
What's next? Offcourse my mothers-birthday, but I do not see any solution for bringing this new A81H+ back to live, with a normale responsive screen, Google services and not having to try turning it on for about 50 times an hour...
I know you can not compare this tablet to 'the other one', but at the end - it's not thát cheap, so I just want to be able to use it and not throw it away, unused in the recyclebin within 48 hours... afterall, it's a birthdaygift.
