Difference between foam and stock tips for M2?

Hi guys,

I'm new to this and just got my M2 a few days ago from that amazon combo deal.

I was wondering what are the differences between the tips that come with the M2 and the comply foam ones. Like are the foam ones better for comfort or/and fit?

Some people have reported that comply foam tips may give a better sound, aside from that it's just about comfort and fit, some prefer foam while others prefer silicone.

Ahhh thanks for the info, what is usually a better comfort/fit for the small tips?

its such a personal thing really, its down to the user, some prefer the softness and adaptability of the foams, me personally i find them itchy and uncomfortable and prefer the stock silicone tips, especially bi-flange ones (not stock though) - its a case of trying and seeing which type you prefer as we are all very different when it comes to having things jammed in our ears

Like the others pointed, its more of a personal preference, foam tips can be more comfortable and can provide a more secure fit. The more secure fit will give a better seal, thus making the sound seem better especially for the bass, but some may not notice this difference too much if they were already getting a good seal with the silicone tips.

My own personal recommendation would be to get the Comply tips if you have the chance, most likely you will enjoy them over the silicone as they feel very nice.

Thanks everyone!

I just got the comply tips today and they seem to be more comfortable for my ears; the foam tips give me a more secure fit than the silicone ones. Just like you said, it made me hear the sound and bass a lot better.

Loving the M2 even more now (can finally hear details I could never hear before with my cheap earphones)!

Wait.. The M2's never came with Comply foam tips right? When they ship mid-April, it'll be the first time from what I gathered... Are you asking about the foam tips that came with the M2's or Comply tips that you bought separately?

Ah, ok. The Comply foam tips are much better than the ones that came with the M2's/M3's before, right? Cause they were really horrible. I was always thinking of getting foam tips but if they're anything like that, yeah... no way.
