Whats with the plural on the Tornados?? Anyway, for under $100.00 this looks like a great deal, no way I was passing it up :) Raz's return to video's also had alot to do with it ;) I will of course put up my views on this one,as well as a video review of my own....can't let the boss have all the fun :) A new A9 processor combined with the great Mali 400 GPU should be killer, can't wait for it to get here!!

EDIT: See full written review at post #12 :)

Quite a few, mostly these infernal Chinese contraptions ;) But I do own two computer stores that I sell the mainstream ones in...and sometimes some of these, if I find them at wholesale at a good price.....which is very rare. Most folks want the name brands, and don't even know these exist, which is so wrong its ridiculous. But consumers usually only see what is forced down their throats by big media, and only through the likes of sites like this one see that there is so much more out there. I try to let the "ordinary folks" in on this as much as possible....and I am always thanked for it in the end. Just doing my part to give sight to the blind ;)

I honestly can't wait to get this...lots of good I'm hearing about it...The price is going to drive some serious rom development.

I should have this in my hands tomorrow morning,if FedEX tracking is to be trusted ;) I'm not seeing as much interest in this over on Slatdroid as I had hoped...what with the super low price and Ainol actually putting out rom updates...even though some are pretty bad. Many on SLD are saying to keep to the 5-18 build,it has a nice market(Google Play)and good stability, the latest rom update from Ainol seems to break Google Play and cause some other problems as well....but there seems to be fixes around that help out. I like to see how well I can get the base rom to work before I go ruining it with rom updates ;) Ainols lack of quality control seems to be putting a damper on this,I think. Anyway, its a steal at the price its at now,and heres to hoping it works out as well as the VIA 8650's did, with massive rom development and a strong community backing it up. They got the low cost part down(but its built far better, and with much better base firmware, than any 8650's did...at the same or lower prices!!)...now all it needs is a little attention from the developers out there. I might sponsor one if I think its worth it..will let you know soon :)

with ROMS dont Ainol provide, as stock, non-chinese versions, so when updates come and people get them from Ainols web site are they indeed installing/overwriting their western firmware with all its PLAY goodness etc??

  • Phone: Samsung Galaxy Mini / Huawei G300 (just ordered)
  • Fav App: Strava, IMDB, Jewels
  • Portable Audio: currently none
  • Headphones PC: Brainwavz HM5

From what I read, the roms(firmware)from Ainol are pretty much the same across the board, your gonna get the Chinese apps like it or not,for instance, but I'm also reading that it comes rooted from the factory, but with no superuser permissions out of the box.(That means that you have to add an app to enable it,easily done with a simple download from Google Play).I will confirm/deny this once I get mine in.As for Play, theres a fix that gives you a full version, not the typical hobbled one, looking into it a bit more today.
