I just received my Newman Touch a few days ago. I ordered it to replace a broken Onda. Unfortunately, even though it looked cool on the video review, I don't like the Newman. There is nothing wrong with it - it's a great player, but I dislike the playlist feature especially. If anyone has a new player, or an old player in near new condition and would like to trade, please email me. No money either way - just a trade. Pref Meizu, but I will try any other player - even a touch screen. No newly registered members please, just someone who's been around so I know I will get your player in return.

The problem is I just got an iPod Touch, and this just doesn't even come close. It has spoilt me for touch based players. If you've used one you will know exactly what I mean. (edit: to be fair the iPod Touch is 3x as expensive)

(Player has been charged and used for maybe 2 hours - still like new with plastic protector back on etc)

Thanks

I know you stated no new users, but I can assure you I'm an honest trader. I'm a moderator over at the benheck forums, and all those who have traded with me can attest to me being a good trader. I'm also an eBay PowerSeller.

Anyways, I've got a player I'd be willing to swap. It's the Slide PMP from ------. It's practically new, only used a couple times. I'd include the headphones, all the original boxing/packing, carrying pouch, etc. If I can find the 2 gig SD card we bought for it, I'd throw it in as well. I purchased this late last year for my mom, but since then, she's gotten an iPod Nano and uses it instead, due to the ease of iTunes (she's not very technically inclined) :P .

And I know what you mean on the Touch. Ever since I got mine, I can't even bear to LOOK at my old iPAQ PDA. Windows Mobile just seems so clunky anymore.

Let me know if you're interested, thanks!

Thanks for the email, but I will keep my Newman. It is unfair to compre a $92 player to a $300 iPod Touch, and I am used to the playlist way of playing songs now. How easy though for Newman to let you play albums so you are not always editing your playlist, or letting you have more than 1 playlist. A firmware upgrade should be able to fix that.

Its nice to have a player you can throw in the car or your pocket and not worry about damaging it. I have been less carefull with it than my expensive players and so I found I am using it lot now.

Also I have found the video quality to be pretty good - not at all choppy (I used Xilisoft set to 20 fps and 320x240) and had no voice lag watching the simpsons movie beginning to end.

Can't wait for someone to change the default background for the media player. I also wish the window style would stay the way you had it when the player was last shut down.

Here are some backgrounds I found online (turn them into bmps first) http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper/inde ... id=&page=1

Someone has a solution for your media player background issue:
