We have added two more cell phones, we will be adding two more soon. The CECT P168 A8+ and CECT A380i are both similar to the P168+, but they all differ slightly, the A380i being the newest, it also has the better screen WQVGA as opposed to normal QVGA.

Check them out, the current videos on their product pages are not by us, i found them on You Tube, we're getting our first batch of these phones on Thursday, i'll my review then.

CECT P168 A8+
CECT A380i

so let me get this straight,

all 3 CECT phones you have are basically the same, with the exception of the screen size?

because according to the pictures, they all look exactly the same, style wise.

Although their specs are the same, they differ in someways. Firstly by the release date, the A380i is the newest, newer and better firmware, touch screen is more like the iPod Touch, has the tilt/shake senor and has a WQVGA screen. The A8+ improves on the P168+, but it is also 16:9 aspect ratio.

Slight differences, functionality is about the same, firmwares improve with the newer released models and look nicer. However their core functions like phone capabilities, audio and video are pretty much the same. So you would need to make a choice on how important small firmware improvements, such as being able to flick through the menu or the tilt/shake sensor are.

Again, I'm just waiting for a decent non-iphone-clone to come out to impress me.

I'm really sick of this design.

But that's just me. I know there's plenty of people who are really digging on this design.

I do agree, but unfortunately these ones tend to be the better of the China phones, even the new China phones that have Windows Mobile 6 have the iPhone UI look.

Well i guess the M8 is probably the phone for you, probably end up costing more than a iPhone, lol.

EDIT: Forgot to mention there will be one phone that won't look like a iPhone, but will still have a touch screen.

OK. So I figured out what I'm going to want in my next phone.

Non-iphone design and UI
WinMo 6
Touchscreen
Wifi
Great battery life. (Not good, but great)

Those are my requirements. Everything else will be icing on the cake, especially if it could be somewhat affordable.

Heck, maybe if I wait just a bit longer, the m8 will start to clone! :)

OK, add onto Bryce's list:

-Min 4 gb internal memory
-Expansion slot up to 32 gb
-Ability to work with Verizon (pipe dream, I know)
-Some sort of game emulation would be cool too (did you see the article from PMPToday that shows the SNES emulator on the Iphone? Link: http://www.pmptoday.com/2008/02/24/play ... hone-v100/)

All around $200!

Fat chance getting it work on a CDMA network. That just isn't available at the moment!

I guess internal memory isn't that important to me if it can expanded externally to a large extent. I guess the processor speed would be more important than internal memory for me.

at least 4gb external SD would be nice

not mini or micro sd. 4gb+ mini and micros are hard to find in the US, and i just dont trust ebay or online sites (with the exception of a few) for memory.

I could live with the memory being from SDHC cards, if the phone would accept up to 32 gb, like the newer Onda mp4 players we are seeing, but only getting a max. 2 gb is definitely not enough. I would want this as my all in one device, so switching around memory cards all the time would get old fast.
As for the CDMA network phones, I wish I had gotten into researching the mp4 players before I switched over to Verizon. Now I'm stuck with a terrible phone, and the only way of upgrading it is to wait another 18 months for the 2 year upgrade bs they run, or spend a crazy amount of money to switch the phone now.

Has anyone tried using a larger than 2GB card in any of these units or PMP? I know they don't "support" larger cards but in the past I have been able to use them for other devices and I was just wondering if it was a "recommendation" or if there was a hard limit based on the firmware.

Thx.

Verizon isn't COMPLETELY terrible when it comes to phones. Frankly, I think they have one of the best standard phones on the market in the LG Voyager.
If I were you, I'd STRONGLY consider this one. I currently have its predecessor in the LG ENV for my work phone (I have ATT for my personal line and have a crappy battery-eating "smart" phone that ain't that smart).
The Voyager, if anything like the ENV, which I think it is, should be a force to be reconned with, frankly.
