And if and when we here in N.America will be able to get our hands on it?
For now, it'll only be the grey market and you'll probably be paying through the nose to some Internet speculator.
The new Meizu website has a very nice section devoted to official retailers for the M8 and they're all in China and they're all bricks-and-mortar shops. There's sections for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and "International" but none are currently showing any outlets. Some provinces in China are still blank, for that matter. There's also going to be the option of ordering directly from Meizu, but that isn't going to do you any good outside China.
I believe Jack Wong has stated he will not be granting licenses for the M8 to Internet resellers, so it's going to be buyer beware for the time being.
Also, for China, the first release of the M8 isn't really "official" as they haven't gotten their government-mandated network license. All boxes are going to be marked "for testing purposes only" (nudge-nudge-wink-wink).
When and if the M8 catches fire, Jack Wong will probably have interested resellers beating down his door, so he'll get to cherry-pick and choose as he pleases.
Bottom line, I wouldn't count on any "official" M8 action outside China for the foreseeable future and if M8s do start cropping up on eBay and whatnot, I'd be very leery.
