Firstly, thanks have to go to Dude and Manderin who gave me lots of help with this. Cheers guys.
THIS GUIDE WILL ALLOW YOU TO REPLACE THE ICONS AND BACKGROUNDS TO YOUR 535/545.This guide is for 535 but it should also work with 545 as they are the same unit just different size screen. Just make sure you change the 535 for 545 in this tutorial and download 545 firmware via link at the bottom.
Firstly you need the following.

Inside you will find :- hxfToolSetup.exe and :-removeHXFToolFromMenuTool.exe, also there is a smile.dll which you have to place a copy of inside your system32 registry.

Firstly you double click on hxftoolsetup.exe and select yes to both boxes that pop up.
now goto the folder that contains the firmware that you wish to modify and right click on the hxf.

you have to select the top line of chinese and it will then create an out folder of the firmware.

double click on the out folder and navigate to system/res - inside here are where all of the files that you can edit are placed.

for example if you goto desktop/desktop1, you will see the original icons like this

now if you download the vx545hd metal themed firmware from
http://rapidshare.com/files/218506274/V ... 1.2_MT.rar and do the previous steps I have shown you, you can get to it's desktop folder and it will look like this.

Now all you have to do is copy all of these files and write them over the ones in the 535 desktop folder.
Once this is done you exit out of the folders until you get back to the folder containing the Out_hxf_VX535HD folder. you then right click on it and select the chinese writing option like this.

It will then do it's business and after a couple of minutes get to this

Once you have got here you need to rename the OUT_HX~1.hxf back to VX535HD.hxf

and then place it into the root of your 535 and then disconnect from the computer shut the 535 down and then restart while holding the vol- key. It will update the firmware and then it will load up and you will have a new display. like this

Now you can also edit any of the images in the res folder but
YOU MUST MAKE SURE IT IS OF THE SAME RESOLUTIONThis whole process is quite simple once you have done it once. Don't worry about bricking your player as it is unlikely but if you do I have another thread
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12594 that has a guide to unbrick your player. It worked for me (Thanks to Dude for this

)
Also you can only do this from a lower firmware if you are running 1.2 you need to downgrade to 1.1 or 1.0 first, otherwise you will need the other guide
Please find the firmwares here

If you search the forums and google you can find icons to download and resize to the desired size for the player. Let's try to make this UI look a lot more apealing. Also this should hopefully cross over to the OS72HR as it is also cc1600 chip, the possibilities are endless.
Well enjoy and I hope to see a theme section on the forums for both of these players.
