Is there no way to mod the v3000 or has it just not been done? I mean the ui is fine as it is but i'd love to see what the community of mp4nation could do with it

not many people got that player here yet, i think only one (raptor) had one so no modding or testing has taken place yet and as this uses a slightly different model that the std rockchip i am not personally sure if the tool we have will work on it (i am sure they can)

well raz now has the player for sale, but not sure how many will take it up,

anyway there is a moddiing guide link in my sig for rockchip players, maybe try those and see if you can get it ti work

there are mods, i've seen some on a few Chinese forums, but not many, Ainol doesn't really push the modding thing as much as Teclast and Onda do

must be the way the firmware is made, because this player use a RockChip RK2708 (very similar to the RK2706).

I was rather disappointed it didn't have the jz4740 which has some (implicit) documentation or the bf547 (which has excellent documentation).

Is there any public developer information for this RK2708? I know it's ARM+DSP but that's insufficient. For instance, I don't believe it's running at 400 MHz. What is the firmware based on, uCos2, uClinux, something else?

i think the OS is custom made by Rockchip

Ingenics (the JZ4740 maker) is more open for development of their chips as they want it to be used for various devices, Rockchip is not so open with the code and want to control all development. It should be noted that Ingenics is really looking to export out the chip, while Rockchip, although maybe indirectly, is not trying to export their chip for western companies to use in devices (well they aren't pushing their chips to foreign markets as much as ingenics does)

There are ways to modd the RockChip RK**** firmwares. You will need to download and install an editor. Then "go to town" so to speak.
I've been working alot on these and have many successes with it.
My most recent success is with my Oppo S11.

do you mean success with the V3000 or your Oppo S11 for making themes?

Think she means the Oppo S11.....

I dont know of anyone that has any 'joy' in the modding of the V3000 as yet....

Might be due to so few owners of it?

Sorry, I should have specified. I meant my Oppo S11.
My start-up and shutdown screens are changed along with a few other things
I'm still working on.
