I think you going to have a problem with this. I don't know if it's even possible to find the right firmware, but I think your player uses a Rockchip. That meanes you're stuck with needing an update program and the firmware to got it updated. (You need to go to a menu in the player where you can say you want it updating, then you plug it into your usb and using a firware update program, but I think you know this otherwise you couldn't have it updated.)

So the only solotion is to open it and using a special methode to reset it, but ofcourse you still need the orginal firmware for it. I know someone has written the manual for this resetting, but can't find it at the monent, but there will be someone how can help you with that ;)

You may want to contact the place you got it from and see if they have the firmware, otherwise, like DJ M said, its going to be hard or near to impossible to get the correct firmware.

Thanks for the replys! it uses a rockchip yes(i can see that because of the user interface). i have the correct progam to update the firmware, so that isnt a problem...and i can update any firmware, so i only need the original firmware.

the program i use for updatening and managing (included with my mp4 player) MP3 Player Utilities 4.05 --> MP3 Uprgrade Tool

I contacted the guys at Sweex.. im waiting for their answer.

i thinkthis may actually be an old actions - similar to the nano clones rather than a rockchip, maybe the s1 firmware website may have it then i cant remember how to get the firmware on the player, on the web iste is all the mp3 utilities needed but i still think a possible opening and hardware reset may be needed to get it into ADFU (upgrade) mode it been a LOOONG while ince i messed with this type of player so am a little rusty.

But, finding the right firmare is gonna be a major pain - may be a massive case of try and see from the massive collections of firmwares out there

Hm, I think that should be possible but still I'm not shure about the action chip Maderin...

The sweex site says it plays WMV and not AMV.... but you maybe right, because I'm not shure about the fact that there should be two different versions that looks like the Blaze.
My uncle has one with 1gb of memmory that is really a Action chip (firmware look based and the fact it plays AMV).

Before all this email sweex, and see if you can get them to send you a link or firmware, it may be worth it

this is a link to the dead player recovery guide for actions based players, which if it it is the one currently on the sweeex site, is defo an actions based player.
you will need to dismantle the player to find the appropriate chip and board reference to find the correct firmware or one that works

Maderin, thanks for the help im waiting for sweex's answer... if they dont have a solution ill try the recovery..! But the recovery will need a firmware.. the player used for the recovery has the same interface and buttons as the sweex blaze, but only a 1.5 instead of a 1.8 screen.

will this make any difference, because then i could try it with hthe firmware avaible for download, with the rcovery program.

if i remember rightly screen size is significant so it may not work.
The difficult thing here is trying to find a compatible firmware, there were so many companies, clones unbranded versions of this type of player and none of them really used constructive numbering systems to determine what firmware fit what player. You really need a firmware that is for a 1,8" screen else you will just get the white screen again.

There were a few of this shaped device about a while back, but this is no indication that the firmware will be compatible. The determining factors are the processor on the player, possibly the main board ID and screen type, but if it comes to it and you have to take this drastic rout you have nothing to loose, just tray as many as you can and see what works

The link below is for a player that is identical in shape and screen size toy your player, it may or may not work - its up to you if you want to try it or not

identical looking player firmware
