The original ONDA VX858LE V1 & V2 both use the v1.0.40 firmware, which is currently the latest for the original VX858LE.

I collected all the firmware and made a pack containing all of the firmware, download it and use the VX858LE firmware: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NN2AQJDO

You will have to use a program called ConsumerUpdate, you can download ConsumerUpdate_3.1.0.0 if you don't already have it: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ISACU6HX
My primary device: Apple iPod touch 8GB (2nd generation) with iPhone OS 3.0 software update (jailbroken with redsn0w)

thanks man..

i also forgot that i have the v2 4GB verrsion of the player.

have u tried a 4GB mini SD card?
just wanted to point out that the kingstson 4GB SDHC class6 WONT work with the device. it only leaves it hang up and must tickle the reset botton for the player to turn off.
:)

i don't think 4GB miniSD cards can work, i believe the idea was that a future firmware update would allow for 4GB support, but it never came.

Where did you buy that card? I am looking for a 4gb card that works with the generic player, but I can't seem to find one. All 4gb cards are SDHC, and I have read that the non SDHC cards can only contain a maximum of 2gb because they work with the fat16 structure.

The old standard for minisd cards was 2gb (sd 1.0 and 1.1) The new standard, sd 2.0 can read and write minisd cards to a maximum of 32 gb. So if the generic (onda) player doesn't support sd 2.0 the maximum minisd you can put in there is 2gb right??

I looked into it a little further, but it's impossible to put a 4gb card in the generic player....

There are no 4gb non-hc cards out there. All cards above 2gb are hc and using SDA 2.0. I think the generic player is using 1.0 or 1.1

Thanks for the link :) But that's a lot of money for a minisd. It's almost as expensive as the whole player :P lol.
2gb minisd's are 4 times as cheap as these babies. Think I will go for the 2gb cards instead.
