Hello there!

Hmm.. Have you double-checked to see whether your battery is fully charged? Also, perhaps lower your brightness level and make sure to close all unused apps/programmes running on the tablet - should add a few more mins!

Also, the NOVO8 doesn't actually have a removable battery, so I'm not sure if you'll be able to swap for new! But have at by all means! - you should be able to find their contact deets from their contact website: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?langpair=auto%7Cen&rurl=translate.google.com&twu=1&u=http://www.ainol.com/plugin.php%3Fidentifier%3Dainol%26module%3Dpage%26action%3Dinfo%26pageid%3D5&usg=ALkJrhiCAgf5Ay9bOEHu0n-BbqZkdkDmWg

hi alex thanks for replying..

well i have the brightness at the minimum (around 10-25%) ,90% of the time, with wifi off. recently just used it for comic book reading or ebooks .

i use this app called battery monitor widget.... says my average charging time is around 1hr 45 mins... discharge average around 2hr 47mins, according to the app my batt is 1500mah (not sure if that is an accurate read though)..

oh and i also use setcpu with cpu governor on 'conservative'.

well i know someone whos handy with a soldering iron. hehe. if ainol can give me a new set of batts.....

hmm there's no email on their site, do you know where i can email them?

thanks! - Jed

ompudsman did you get the Novo8 from here, if so when did you purchase it, we can check the date and see if your unit would have been using the older or newer battery.

Keep in mind that the 4 - 5hr battery life is just a rough guide, many factors in your normal usage can greatly affect the battery life, one of the big factors is how often you use the touch screen, the more scrolling, moving, multitouch you do, the more battery is consumed.

any thoughts on whether this belonged to the batch with new, or old batteries?

thanks!

There is no concrete was to tell by serial numbers, at least none that most of us have been able to sus out. The only way to really confirm is to open it up and check.

Other than confirming what you have, opening the player is not recommended, the only danger is that you can damage the tablet and render it useless. So my recommendation would be to not open it.
