I have received my Novo 8 today. It only started once or twice. After that - nothing.
It just vibrates shortly and nothing happens.
I tried methods for upgrading software (pressing volume and inserting DC cable) - NOTHING.

Is it already dead?

Did you already try charging it for a few hours?

It was 50% when i turned it off. From this point i charged it for about hour.
Is it possible that it is not turning on because it has only around 40-50% of battery?
When i plug the charger, there is only short vibration and nothing else happens. Is it charging?

I tried keeping the power-on button even for 60 seconds - still nothing.

No it should still turn on at 40-50% battery but that might not have been an accurate battery representation. Depending on the current ROM installed. I'm not sure what the Novo 8 does when it is charging, I'm sure someone who has one will post and let you know. For now, I would keep it on the charger for a little while to see if it will boot up later. Hopefully your device is fixable and you don't have to RMA it.

Couple of things you can do is to check to see if the Novo8 has a reset hole (can't remember off the top of my head), if it does then use it, if nothing happens then connect it to your pc to see if your pc detects it or not.

Finally do hold down the power button for longer.

Ok,when you plug in the charger, does the NOVO turn on by itself? Everytime I plug it in when its off, thats what happens. If yours isnt doing this, then there might be a problem with your NOVO,sorry.
If you long press it when its unplugged(more than 5 seconds),it should just turn on,again,if not,you have problems. You might have gotten a defective one, send it back for an exchange.Despite all the precautions taken, some just dont work.I have had more than my fair share of defective tablets,so I speak from tons of experience.Just send it back and get another one.
