Video out isn't anything new to be seen on MP4 players, but till now the video output quality has never been anything impressive. One of the capabilities of the RK2706 chip is for TV out, but right now there aren't any players on the market that utilize this feature.

However this is about to change, two new players that use the RK2706 chip are confirmed to have TV out, Oppos S11 (touch screen) and RAmos RM935. It seems that Oppo and RAmos are trying to wow people by stating the player will be able to support high resolution output, but from experience, i will wait till i get one of these players in hand before i comment on how good the TV-Out video quality will be.

If the TV out does meet the hype, then these MP4's will have even more functionality, so lets hope Rockchip has done a good job in implementing the video out.

Actually I just remembered the Sunplus SPCA536 I got last year has a TV out and isn't too bad at playing videos on the old bood-tube, though at only 800x600 resolution which is fine for standard definition TV.

Actually, there was a player released last month that plays tv out at impressive resolutions. Now if I can just remember what player it was... seems like it started with Stupid... no, wait... Smart! yeah, SmartQ! That's right, SmartQ released the new T5-II... or did they... it's a mystery...

:?
